Not sure where to start with your floral budget for your New Orleans wedding? Here’s how I’d spend it, ranked by what makes the biggest impact—and where you can scale back without losing the magic.
1) Bridal Bouquet + Boutonniere – These are in nearly every photo, they’re deeply personal, and they can even be preserved afterward by our friends at .
2) Ceremony Flowers – mostof the time, if your ceremony and reception are in the same space, these can be repurposed. Big impact, double duty.
3) Wedding Party Flowers – I love tiny posies (instead of full bouquets) for bridesmaids so they have something in hand, and boutonnières for close friends or family to feel honored. Caveat: I don’t love repurposing bouquets as table flowers. After being out of water for hours in the New Orleans heat, they’re not always looking their best come evening.
4) A Welcome Moment – This could be a flower install on stairs, a garland on signage, or an arrangement by the guestbook. It’s the first thing your guests see and a lovely way to welcome them to the party.
5) Guest Tables – Unless you’re doing a fully seated dinner, tables in New Orleans–style receptions are more of a landing pad than a centerpiece moment. If you’re trying to stretch a budget, a few bud vases and votives often do the trick.
6) Candles – Colored tapers? Gorgeous. Dramatic. But they add up quickly. If budget is tight, simple votives can create plenty of glow.
7) Bar Arrangement – It’s New Orleans… the bar will be busy. A floral moment here gets a lot of eyes and bang for your buck.
8) Cabaret Tables + High Boys – We love to flower them up, but if it’s a tiny 30” round, even a votive makes it feel polished.
9) Gift Table/Cake Table etc - If budget is slim, skip it. If budget is generous, let’s flower it up, baby.
