1. PATRIOT'S PEN - Involves students from 6 to the 8th grade to complete a short essay. Our Post and Auxiliary have provided Cash Awards over the years, and many have received checks from being a District or Department winner. Click on link to download the entry form and regulations.

3. TEACHER OF THE YEAR - Every year, the VFW recognizes exceptional teachers for their outstanding commitment to teaching Americanism and patriotism to their students. Current certified/licensed teachers of grades K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 can be nominated by fellow teachers, students, family members, other interested individuals (You) or nominate themselves. Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism, and strive to help students develop a better understanding of democratic values and beliefs are prime candidates for the award. Nominations are to be turned in to your local VFW Post. ENTRY Must be in the Post by October 31st.

90 YEARS AGO - VFW Post 2031 Was Chartered to Remember World War I in Honor of PFC Drew E. Dixon. In November of 1944, the Drew Dixon VFW Post 2031 was Rechartered and renamed the Dixon-Conderman VFW Post 2514.

JULY 4th at FIVE PM - The Winner of the Academy Sports $700 Gift Card will be Drawn.
GET YOUR TICKETS From the VFW Post 2514 Canteen - They are $5 Each or Five for $20.

JULY 4th, INDEPENDENCE DAY - Family Day
- The Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Bern will have Served Veterans and the Community for 90 Years.
- 4th of July Ceremony will include the Presentation of Colors by the Sons of the American Revolution.
- Donna Storey of Due East will sing the Star-Spangled Banner, and she's awesome.
- All Kinds of 4th of July Food will be served at the Post. Moore's Barbecue Plates, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Watermelon with Cole Slaw and Baked Beans
- Competitive Corn Hole and Horse Shoe Competition with Great Prizes provided from area Restaurants, Merchants, and Businesses
- Children's Activities provided by Auxiliary with face painting, games, and fun. Free Hamburgers or Hot Dogs for the Kids 12 and Under. Free American Flags, and Copies of the American Constitution.
- Tammy Hammond DJ and Karaoke Singing from 5:00 On, with Random Door Prize Drawings of Great Gifts
- DOOR PRIZES - Register at the Post on July 4th, and there will be Random Drawings through the day, and through the Tammy Hammond, DJ Karaoke Show beginning around 5:00 pm

GREAT DOOR PRIZES - You Need to Register to Win a Door Prize. You will get a Number when you Register. Drawings will be on a Random Basis of Registered Numbers. You will have to be present to Win. There will be Frequent Drawings.

GREAT PRIZES for Winners of the Corn Hole and Horse Shoes Contest at the 4th of July Family Day Event at the VFW Post 2514. Hey, We are Celebrating our 90th Anniversary as a Veterans of Foreign Wars Post here in New Bern. Familiar Merchants, Restaurants, and Businesses have provided some wonderful Gift Cards, so we can make the Competition Interesting.

RANDOM DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS For Gift Card Certificates Ranging from $25 through $40, and there are a couple of Door Prizes of Greater Value.

IN THE EVENT OF RAIN - The Corn Hole Contests can be held inside of our large Veterans Hall.
