A note from ‘The Lighthouse’ - “what an incredible gift you have made to The Lighthouse, as more likely than not, many of the women and their teenage daughters, arrive in shelter with very little and having makeup to offer them certainly helps them feel better” // all 88 cosmetic bags were dropped off at The Lighthouse in Lancaster and New Beginnings in Newark. While dropping off at the Lighthouse the ladies let me know how nice it is to have these bags. They give one to a woman when she first arrives to shelter, they use them for the teenage girls, or when someone is just having a bad day to help cheer them up. They are able to use these bags all year long. // I wanted to share this with those of you who contributed to #ipsybaggiveback and how your generosity and caring heart helped another female ❤️

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜 it’s also the time when we start collecting for #ipsybaggiveback // 2021 is our FIFTH year! In the last 5 years, we collectively have put together over 1,000 self care bags for women in DV shelters and/or seeking legal help. These bags have been delivered the week of Christmas. The holidays are extra tough on some and this is a small way to bring light + hope ✨// there’s a few ways to get involved: 1. drop off donations at my studio (6379 central college rd. New Albany) 2. mail your donation (PO Box 302 Kirkersville, OH 43033 3. Venmo! I'm almost at a loss for words about how amazing this one was. These two are very near and dear to me and I lost count at the amount of times tears filled my eyes yesterday. A love like Cayla and Zak share is so dang special and I'm still pinching myself this morning that they ask me to capture their day. It might have happened months later than they originally planned, but it was still just as amazing. So, so happy for you both!

I remember after Kelly booked me to do her wedding day hair, she sent me an email saying she was thinking about cutting her hair to her normal length and asked what my thoughts were // YES, yes, yes! Ladies, do YOU. Don’t feel pressured to grow your hair out long if that’s normally not how you wear it. (now, if you want an updo, that’s different) but don’t hesitate to be yourself & show your own style🖤
