FREE Valentine’s Day Weddings Return to Mystic
Mystic, Conn. – Couples seeking a heartfelt and memorable way to celebrate Valentine’s Day are invited to be married for FREE at the Olde Mistick Village Meeting House. Local wedding officiant Marie Tyler Wiley will host her annual event on Saturday, February 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., continuing ceremonies until all couples present are wed.
This marks Wiley’s 25th year joyfully performing FREE Valentine’s Day weddings for couples ready to say “I do.” Ceremonies are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. No early arrivals are permitted. Couples may bring guests, music, and simple decorations. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.
Participants must obtain a valid marriage license from the Stonington Town Clerk’s Office (860-535-5060). Couples are encouraged to call ahead for licensing details. Licenses may be secured in advance or the same day.
Please be advised that in Connecticut, the Town Halls — where you obtain your marriage licenses — are only open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly.
Upon arrival, couples will check in with volunteer intake coordinator Joanne Holly of Stonington. Attendees should arrive fully dressed, as changing facilities are not available.
Professional photography services will be offered on site by Kasuba Photography & Film for a nominal fee.
This long-standing community tradition offers couples a joyful, simple way to begin married life in a festive Valentine’s Day setting.
