I just heard the news that George Wendt passed away today. I got the pleasure of sharing a beer with him several years ago and we discussed his time on Cheers, his appearances in Seinfeld & Frasier, working with Michael Jackson on the Black & White video, his one month run of The George Wendt Show, working with on Sabrina, and working on Broadway as Edna in Hairspray and Santa in Elf. Never met a more kinder man willing to take time to discuss his life and work with a 20 something full of questions.

Quick trip to Tucson, AZ this weekend. Flights from Nashville to Denver, Denver to Tucson, Tucson to Dallas, & Dallas to Nashville. Found the Coors Silver Bullet Lounge in Denver and a cantina in Tucson. Walked the Prima County fairgrounds to check out the livestock and rides, then worked a packed out show. Great times in Tucson!

Looking a little more like a studio space every day. Pulled out the old condenser mics, two new WA-MBA broadcast boom arms, the 2i2, and routed it all to Live 11 for audio recording. I have a new side project that I’ll be announcing in the next month or two so be sure to follow for updates.

Dustin is foremost a musician who has played with several bands, and he uses this skill to read crowds and play music they want to hear when he DJ’s. Dustin wasn’t always a Dj though.

In the fall of 2017, Dustin was traveling and taking photos for local DJ’s where he watched and learned how they operated their equipment. Many were great with the crowds, some were getting there. Dustin never anticipated becoming a DJ himself until an opportunity arose one night when a DJ failed to show at a local Shoals club called PJ’s. Dustin was there with his laptop and offered to help fill in for the night. The crowd loved Dustin’s style and ability to read and interact with them. The club asked him to come back the next weekend, then the next, and the next... well, you know how this goes.

Fast forward to 2018 and Dustin was freelance DJing weddings, private parties, and club residencies from Nashville, TN to Selma, AL and beyond. Business was steady and people were learning who Dustin was and what he could do. In the fall of 2018, a mutual friend introduced Dustin to the owner of Shoals Event Specialists, LLC. Dustin and SES partnered to provide quality DJ services as well as event rental items. This partnership flourished and led to even more bookings across North Alabama, primarily in the wedding industry. 2019 saw Dustin DJing over 80 events from weddings and corporate events to fundraisers and private parties.

If you want a DJ with a consistent 5 star rating. Dustin is the DJ for you. He can make your wedding all you dreamed about and if you are a club/bar owner, he can have the crowd dancing and constantly coming back whenever he is behind the decks. Make sure you book early so you don’t miss out on one of the Shoals most in demand DJ’s.
