Hope you had a relaxing reflecting Memorial weekend.
Our calling right now is to offer adventure, newness, something that truly fills our hearts. We moved to this Mountain 15 yrs ago with no idea what we were doing, just knew we needed to get out of the desert heat. So many thought we were crazy commuting Hwy 74 to work and getting our daughter to high school. Maybe so but every drive home we could feel our world opening in up as we reached our house on the ridge at 4600ft elevation from sea level. Our ears would pop, our chip bags will blow up, water bottles crackle, and our vision, imagination would grow and grow. Our limitless views have allowed us to dream big, beyond boundaries.
Six years ago we bought an A-Frame cabin just a mile away from our home, again following our intuition. Little did we know it would change the lives of so many. It offered housing to new friends, family in town, Airbnb and a safe place to hang out. When our world changed with Covid, new friends stayed, helped us build a trail around our property as we needed projects and things to do. It is a walking meditation trail with wandering views, old sitting benches we have restored, small art pieces hanging from branch’s and a sacred space we honor our family members who have passed. It leads from our homemade farm table to our redwood yoga deck we built with redwood amongst the Ribbonwood’s and Manzanitas.
We also added a hair studio to continue with the passion of hairstyling without the desert drive. So many returning clients, and with word of mouth, getting new ones from local Mnt towns.
We do weekend rentals with Airbnb, and now offering more Day Retreats. The magic of guests coming to experience this mountain adventure with soulful laughter, small gatherings of feast and friendships is exactly what we are suppose to do right now. Everyday our gratitude that together we have formed Destination 74 off the Scenic Hwy 74 is our dream. Thank you for all the support and love you have shared with us over the years and so much more to come. In Gratitude, kari and dean
