In loving memory 💞
Over the last few years, I’ve had the incredible honor of capturing so many family moments. I’ve watched babies grow, families expand, milestones be celebrated, and memories be made. Being invited into those moments is something I never take for granted.
But with that honor has also come heartbreak.
I’ve also witnessed loss alongside many of these families. I’ve seen the smiling faces from our sessions displayed on memory boards, funeral programs, and obituaries. Mothers. Fathers. Grandparents. Siblings. Children. People who were never expected to leave this earth so soon.
As photographers, we often hear that photography is a luxury. And in many ways, it is.
But I also believe it’s a necessity.
At least once a year if not more, set aside what you can and make the time for a family session. Not because your outfits are perfect. Not because everyone is having a good hair day. Not because life feels organized.
Do it because time is never promised.
The money won’t matter in that moment. It won’t matter years from now when you’re wishing you had one more photo, one more smile, one more image to hold onto.
What will matter is being able to look into the eyes of someone you love and remember exactly who they were.
Photographs become priceless the moment they’re all we have left.
Please don’t wait.
I knew her for only a brief moment behind my camera, yet lately I feel the heartbreak of her loss. In her honor, I share these images and the love they captured. ❤️
