My friend of 25+ years has his wedding today, and I'm so excited for them! I love seeing happy couples enjoying their day and soaking up all the details. And even more so when it's someone I love. Happy wedding day, Neal & Eli!

We have been remiss in not introducing you all properly to our Whiskey Wall set! She is a freestanding trio of walls standing 8 feet tall. We can customize this beauty for your event with paint, lights, and signage, you name it!
The center arched cut out has optional shelves and is 8' wide. Her side walls are each 4' wide. Total 16' wide!

Gift giving is a major part of my love language 😍, and being a florist means getting to give my friends and family beautiful flowers for special occasions or no reason at all.
This always comes through in our weddings as well. Our team brings extra candles & supplies so that we can use every single flower & candle. We might add more to one of your designs, or we might surprise you with something unplanned for the sweetheart table or mantel.
Generosity is a core value for Flora Soul. We always provide our clients with a toss bouquet, flat lay blooms, cake flowers, and an extra buttonier at no additional charge.

When planning a wedding, it seems everyone you talk to is going to give you advice or opinions you maybe didn't ask for. If unsolicited advice bothers you, then here is your ⚠️ to keep scrolling because I love giving unsolicited advice when it comes to my favorite subject! 🤣
Some of my favorites to share with friends & clients are:
🩷 You wouldn't build a house without a general contractor to oversee all the trades & manage the process for you. Don't plan a wedding without a professional event planner unless you really enjoy stress. 😉
🩷 If they wouldn't show up to help you move - don't invite them. (Grand parents get a free pass) 👵🧓🏽 Less guests = Lower Spending, and the ability to prioritize your budget based more so on your wants and dreams
🩷 Don't 👏 be 👏 a👏liar. Everyone has a budget, not sharing it with your potential vendors during an inquiry can lead to frustration. If what your asking for costs less or more than your budget, it helps us to also offer solutions that will be a better fit for you!
🩷 If you understand that you shouldn't wear sandals in the snow or drive a convertible in rainy weather, then know that picking an all outdoor venue during a season that is very cold, rainy, or hot means your in NC and there will be challenges (see the first bit of advice to figure out how to deal with this).
🩷 Have FUN. At the end of the day, if you marry your best friend, then it was a successful wedding.
Same advice to my fellow vendors! We are in an industry that is about celebrating, we are not saving lives. Enjoy the journey!

Happy Valentines Day!
I always advise clients to think about the impact of the designs they choose for their wedding day.
Guests walk right past a few flowers on a welcome sign or in a budvase, but a big statement piece over your dance floor can't be ignored.
Instead of trying to spread your florals thin by putting small amounts everywhere, choosing one or two large focal pieces is much more dramatic and eye-catching.
Of course, if budget allows, have focals & put flowers everywhere! Because you can never have too many flowers. 😘

We bought B&D Storage! 🥳
Feeling incredibly blessed & humbled that our amazing former landlords choose to sell to us. My studio will continue to be in the main office building & Jeff Brown as official owner will manage the storage units.
God is in this on so many levels. 🙏 We are grateful beyond measure for the people He puts on our path & the big mountains He moves just for us.
Jeff and I celebrate 14 years together soon, and we could no more of guessed back then, than even two years ago when Vintage Soul (Now Flora Soul Studio ) moved in to the studio & started renting, that this could happen.
And He is not done yet!! We close on business #3 next month! 🤯😱
We are busy with our studio renovation and other exciting projects we can't share just yet (lawyers 🙄), but here is some sunshine for you on this very grey day in the Carolinas 🌞
Some of you are not going to like this opinion.
White poly cotton linen is a waste of your money.
It belongs in restaurants or maybe to be used as hospital sheets. But not at your wedding reception.
Your flowers can't do everything. We can do a lot, but your tables represent so much visual real estate in your reception. Without a linen that brings out the sophisticated look you want, your flowers can disappear!
This design by is such a fantastic example of using elegant neutral toned linens with tons of textures & interesting details that compliment the floral to create a much more cohesive look that can't be ignored.

She wanted the aisle to be the show stopper of her ceremony, so we mixed live plants in with our florals to create the most fabulous aisle meadow!

I've been a little MIA on here because we've been non-stop this month! I'm so grateful for the business & my team. The last quarter of the year always feels like the last mile of a race to me.
We are decorating for Christmas clients & have a couple more weddings & events. We got in our first small set of rental furniture & I'll share that soon too!
I am looking forward to regrouping & hopefully a little relaxing in the slower season. 💕

💐Once booked, we schedule a design consultation & return a detailed proposal to you

🌸Sit back & enjoy the rest of your planning until wedding day, when we create everything beyond your expectations!
We are quoting for all of 2024 & accepting date holds (with deposit) for 2025!
We love mixing plants & cut flowers for an authentic garden feel. The potted plants also give us an opportunity to create a lot of varied heights & textures. Bonus? The moms opted to pluck flowers as they walked down instead of having corsages!

If you thought I was MIA, you'd be right. We took December to travel to Italy & visit with family. I honestly needed that time for realignment & mental health. But then something happened. I have realized every time there is a space where I may think, "we aren't busy enough" or "I am failing," it's actually a gap. A gap God created so He could fill it with something better than I could ever imagine. Basically, He gets me out of my own way (and His), and we are always blown away by the gifts we receive in these gaps. 2023 was an amazing year with fantastic clients, my team who I can't do without, and the ever supporting love of my life cheering me on. I have wanted to open a wedding venue for the last couple of years. Had been working on finding a space, receiving coaching, and getting loans. And road blocks kept appearing. Finally, last February, I surrendered & and said, "Ok God, if not this what?" And I waited. @jackiefogartieevents asked us to build some seating charts for a floral client of ours. They were rented an additional ten times after this. I thought, ok, here is the path I need to take! Rentals & custom built items. (More to come on this later!) We rebranded. Our new site will be up soon. I was exhausted but excited. And still, there was a gap in the first quarter of the year. And we said, "We trust you God, what next? What more?" Well. Wow. We are in the process of buying our studio property, which includes the attached storage unit business. And God wasn't done. We are buying one more business. 🤯 This business fixes growing pains & problems I don't know that I even prayed about for Flora Soul (because independent is not a strong enough word to describe my personality at times). All the months of trying to find funding & locations for a venue. And now here we are with our cups literally running over! God is in the gap, my friends. And our year has started off in the most incredible ways. I can't wait to share more!! Cover by @clic
