The Queen carefully approached the newly-born Star. She knew that the brilliance of its Luminosity could revive her dying planet, but she also knew that the raw power of a New Star could also destroy. She took a deep breath and took a step towards the sparkling light, eyes closed,
her head bowed in reverence and awe.
She uttered a simple plea to the Star:
"Please, help me save my people."
The Star answered.
"Come, Child."
As the Queen began to slowly walk forward, she felt an icy, cold shadow creep up from behind her.
The Darkness had found her.
She heard its insidious voice booming through the heavens.
"The Star is mine!"
Without a moment's hesitation, and with no thought of her own safety, the Queen threw herself on the Star. The Star sought shelter, absorbing into the Queen's body. as she rose into the sky.

"Noooooo!!!" The Darkness shrieked into the night.

The Queen rose into the sky, her eyes glowing with the power of the Star's Luminescence.
The light poured from her in rays of pure Starlight, piercing the Darkness and completely destroying it.

As she ascended, a blinding quasar exploded in void. The Queen shielded her eyes and waited...
When the initial brilliance subsided, a small, glowing entity remained, surrounded by the stunning afterglow of the fiery light.

"A Star is Born," she whispered.

And for the first time since she began her journey, the Queen felt an overwhelming sense of hope.

The journey was long and arduous.
The Queen closed her eyes wearily and rested. She thought about the hatred that had infected her planet. It had crept in stealthily, under the guise of "progress" and "betterment", slowly poisoning the people and lands, destroying everything in it's wake.
The Queen envisioned a world of peace and harmony, where the air and water were pure and clean and the people were healed.
A place called Elysium.

Once upon a time, there was a Celestial Queen. Her planet was dying and with it, her people. Although she was well beyond her adventuring years, she decided to embark on a Journey of Life to save them all....

And the end of another fun week with

Last night, after being away all day and a lot of driving, I finished prepping dinner and decided to sit down before turning in and finish my Mythos list. I was pretty exhausted and didn't really feel like drawing, but I wanted to get the piece finished so I took out my inks and started finishing Zeus for the last prompt of "Light".
Everything was going well until I foolishly decided to grab my cute little dip pen and my Black Magic ink to finish the detailing.
Big mistake.
I'm still not sure how it happened but before I knew it, the inkwell was on its side and ink was everywhere...
all I could think of was you and your Poseidon. Maybe because I've not been very, ahem, complimentary of Athena's treatment of Medusa, the Goddess of Wisdom decided to teach me a lesson. Maybe Zeus was not happy that I was talking smack about his daughter.

Whatever the, I have learned something. Ink and exhaustion do not mix.
So when I fixed my Athena (thanks to some acrylics) I left the word "Wisdom" alone to remind me to use Wisdom when making decisions.

Especially those where black ink is involved.

So since I've gone Greek (again🤣)
Here's your boy Poseidon (again😂🤣)
Not gonna lie, I toyed with the idea of taking my Poseidon from last week and shrinking that piece down and adding him digitally to his cameo spot on my spread🤣

This version looks a lot kinder than I imagine the Sea God probably was😂 I definitely prefer him in blue as the original was.

Today's Mythos prompt from is Love.
In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite gets most of the press so I went with Eros.
Little know fact:
After Aphrodite became the favorite representation of Love (after an aggressive ad campaign started by Ares) Eros decided he'd had quite enough of Olympus politics, took his fabulous hair and charisma, went to Earth and founded the 80s hair band, Whitesnake.
