Iredell County invites the community to gather for a special Flag Day Ceremony on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. at the Government Center South in Mooresville.

This meaningful observance will honor the history, symbolism, and enduring significance of the American flag through welcoming remarks, a Presentation of Colors by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, the raising of a Capitol-flown flag, and reflections on what the flag represents to our nation and community.

As part of Iredell County’s America 250 initiative, the ceremony serves as an opportunity to come together and recognize the values, service, and shared heritage that unite us.

Community members are encouraged to attend and be part of this special tribute.

It was a meaningful afternoon in Statesville attending the Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony hosted by the Iredell County Public Library.

The tree was planted in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, commemorating 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Guests had the opportunity to hear from the local history librarian and several guest speakers who shared thoughtful reflections on our nation’s history and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

It was a special reminder of our nation’s founding, as well as the strong sense of community throughout Iredell County that continues to grow today.
