We had the privilege of bartending a beautiful Wedding yesterday! 180 people!

I didn't get a lot of pictures because we were so busy, but I thought I'd share a couple that I did get.

I haven't made a Mai Tai in a while!

The story goes it was created in the 1940s by Trader Vic, who owned a tiki bar called Trader Vic's in Oakland, California.

He created the drink for some friends visiting from Tahiti, and after one sip, they exclaimed, "Mai Tai! Roa Ae!"

Translation: "Out of this world! The best!"

And thus, the Mai Tai was born.

1oz light rum
1oz aged rum
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
3/4 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/4 oz orgeat syrup

Shake for about 20 seconds and strain over fresh ice

Let's talk Bloody Mary's!

The Restaurant I'm working in now makes theirs with Zing Zang (which I think is the next best thing aside from making your own mix), Guinness, a little of our VTX BBQ sauce (a little sweet, a little spicy), and we garnish with a slice of brisket, fried pickles, celery, olives, lemon, and lime. The glass has a brisket rub rim. They are delicious!

There's a place a couple hours away from me that I WILL get to eventually. The Blind Pelican. These people are garnishing with filets, lobster tails, shrimp, oysters.. grilled cheese sandwiches! The pictures on their page do not disappoint!

I've made many in my time. In a variety of ways.
