A friend wrote this and I agree ---"It was wild to hear that some churches wouldn't consider hosting Victor Marx .(If you haven't heard, he's running for Colorado Governor.) I've known by experience how weak some churches in my town are. That could be nothing more than my personal opinion but hear me out.

When Charlie Kirk was murdered, I really felt the pull for community. Tim and I went to church. The pastor held a separate prayer meeting at the end of the service in a small room so they could continue with their regular programming. My stomach turned. The sermon was about grief and it wasn't bad. But the show has to go on.

Does it though?

My grievance against church for a long time has been weak sauce programming. Rehearsed holy moments for worship. Feel good sermons that don't convict anyone to change. Moments of prayer but the "move them out of the sanctuary" music is loud enough we all know what they really want us to do. The supernatural is almost non existent. We can say the word enemy but to say demon is almost unheard of. Does the devil even exist anymore?

What are we even doing here?!

When "the church" decided to back away from politics a huge hole was created. It's not that we need to tell everyone how right we.think we are. We need to put grit behind what we believe. If God is the center then every aspect of our lives has to come into agreement. There is no reward for doing nothing.

Believers need to get their act together. The mind numbing programming needs to end. There's a whole church body full of people hoping for freedom. Instead they're learning to change their public behavior rather than encounter God and have an internal transformation. How can we as believers impact the world if what the world sees of us isn't so different from them?!

Oh I know, shots fired. Most of you know I'm not a sleepy believer.

The highlight tonight, if you've read this far, was unity for me. Bringing what should be like minded people to the table for a purpose, not just to argue. Marx isn't a politician but he knows how to get people to work together. That's worth my vote right there.
