As the summer winds down, you may be trying to squeeze in one last trip to the beach. There are so many benefits of sand play for kids it’s hard to know where to start. One of those benefits is stimulating the sense of touch. Playing in the sand is very important for the sensory development of little ones since it stimulates touch (it allows you to feel different textures and temperatures).

Do you wonder how butterfly got its name? The term butterfly was first used to describe the bright yellow male brimstone, a butter colored insect. It eventually came to include the species of the butterfly. Another reference is that butterflies would hover around when the farmers would churn butter.
