Yesterday was scary for us. Our sweet Jersey boy, Beauregard, decided he wanted Dolly’s food. Dolly, being a horse, did what horses do — she turned and kicked. The kick landed right on Beauregard’s head, sending him into a terrifying seizure. For a moment, the outcome looked grim.
With little eyes watching and asking if he was okay, I did what I knew to do — I prayed. I covered his eyes as they rolled back, spoke a heartfelt prayer out loud, and let my girls witness God at work.
The moment I finished praying, Beauregard lifted his head. Slowly, shakily, he stood up. His nose began to bleed from the trauma, so we prayed again and thanked God for His grace. I reminded the girls that even this cow was created by Him and held in His hands.
Today, Beauregard is back to his normal, friendly self — and we are so grateful. God is good, all the time.
