WHEN WALKING IS BETTER THAN RUNNING 😉

One big moment you shine on your wedding day is your walk down the aisle. It’s the first time your guests—and maybe even your soon-to-be spouse—will see you glowing in your wedding dress, and it marks the very start of your marriage journey with your partner. While some brides dream of recreating the famed scene from 'Father of the Bride', there are plenty of unique ways to walk down the aisle at your wedding.

Whether for personal reasons or to highlight your independence, it's becoming more common for brides to walk down the aisle in a non-traditional way. MAYDAY MAYDAY!!

Let's talk about those SOS moments at a wedding.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On this occasion, we are referring to the "Bridesmaid Survival Kit" but, what is it? -you may ask, well is a cache of beauty, fashion + first aid items that the bridal party should have on the wedding day. The items are either gathered by bridesmaids before the wedding or gifted by the bride.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are probably thinking "Why have bridesmaid survival kits when I already made an emergency kit for myself?" Well, being over-prepared is the best-case scenario for any worst-case situations that could befall your day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are so many items that serve a dual purpose:

🧷 Safety pins are the duct tape of the wedding world. They can hem a dress, they can connect bra straps to dresses, and if the bride’s bustle ends up being too heavy, a few added safety pins can seamlessly support the weight.

🩹 Bandaids can prevent irritation from sequins near the underarm area.

🪒 Deodorant is, of course, used for underarms, but it can also prevent thigh chafing and be applied to the heel to prevent blisters caused by not-too-broken-in shoes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can’t gamble on your glam squad having enough extras for everyone. Your hair & makeup artists will likely have things like bobby pins + blotting papers, but don’t count on them magically having other emergency items—their job is to focus on making everyone look their best. The same goes for your venue coordinator or bridal assistant: If you’re getting married at a full-service venue, they’ll likely have some items to spare, but it’s up to you (and your planner, if you have one) to make sure that your crew is taken care of when it comes down to it.

A few of the BASIC items to keep handy are: Fashion tape, Bandaids, Safety pins, Stain remover pens, Deodorant, Eye drops, Q-tips, Nail file, Sunscreen, Bug spray.

BE STILL AND KNOW!

60 long days have already gone by since accident 😱 can't believe it's been that much time and honesty I don't want it to end. -Don't get me wrong, I want my husband to be 100% recovered, I just don't want this special time to change.

It's been amazing to have him with me 24/7 'literally' -no that I didn't before 🤪 but this time has been different. You learn a lot from your spouse when he/she is sick or injured, and they learn a lot from you too!! Our love language is acts of service so while I've enjoyed so much taking care of him, driving him to every appointment, making sure he takes his meds, does his exercises & rests in between 😊 he has also had a great time making sure my coffee is fresh and hot in the mornings, my side of the bed is warm before I get in, my electronic devices are fully charged so they'll last throughout my busy days, and so much more -including some nice back rubs! 🤗

God knew we needed this time together, we are sure He wanted us to bond more & make our marriage + relationship stronger, no doubt! The countless blessings that had come during this time of "REST" are beyond our understanding, and we are thankful for each of them. 🤍 -Psl 46:10

Sometimes we have to see the bigger picture. It was indeed scary to see my husband unable to walk or move but that was not the point of it all; you see, we develop this "tunnel vision" skill that doesn't allow us to use our "peripheral vision," we just see what's in front of us and not what is beside us, we want so bad our present circumstances to change that we forget how to stay put, we are so constantly moving that we freak out when we have to pause for a bit. Without my husband's injury, we would have never experienced the blessings of your prayers, the outpouring of your love & concern, the fellowship with those who visited, the special time with our families, the new coffee places we discovered 😝 and so much more.

Friend, if you've found a stop in the road, don't worry, stay still, enjoy this time. There's more ahead for sure, but there's enough around too, you just have to see it. 💕

PICTURE PERFECT!

With the popularity of smartphones capable of taking great pictures, every guest thinks they can get the perfect wedding picture. The trouble is they often get in the way of the real photographer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is a growing problem and it often means the happy couple doesn’t get the shots they paid for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A simple piece of advice for guests is, “Make sure the professional photographer isn’t going for the same shot (even better if you join UNPLUGGED to the celebration). And NEVER upload any photos from a wedding to social media until after the couple does.”
