A message from Wedding Guy, Matthew Trettel:

I’ve been so fortunate to spend almost 30 years as a big part of the wedding industry. I’ve had more adventures than I would have ever imagined. In that time I’ve produced hundreds of bridal shows, spent two seasons on the road filming ‘Randy to The Rescue’, and produced press fashion shows for Bridal Fashion Week.

In it all, my favorite part has been working with the many artisans, fellow entrepreneurs and others that have made the wedding industry their life’s work. It’s been an amazing ride.

I have also had the fortune to work alongside the best team. Bruce Vassar and I worked together for 20 of these amazing years before Bruce left us. Today, my team of Ellaina, Erika, and Michael have continued to blaze new trails and follow my unending adventures.

And for that, I could not be more thankful.

Today we are excited to announce that the Twin Cities Bridal Show and the Unveiled Wedding Event have been acquired by Sonja Babich of Iron Diamond Media, owner of Minnesota Bride.

Iron Diamond Media brings a wealth of experience and unique resources to the table, aligning closely with our vision for the future of wedding shows. Their dedication to excellence and innovation promises exciting developments for vendors, attendees, and the industry as a whole.

Collectively our team has decided to retire The Wedding Guys brand and we are transitioning to my other business, Chrom Expo Services. We aren’t going far as we are thrilled to support the Iron Diamond Team as they take the shows to new heights.

I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work in this amazing industry and I am excited to see what amazing things Sonja does as we pass the torch to her and her team.

💌 Addressing Your Wedding Invites 💌

DO know your guests’ pronouns. Traditionally, Ms./Miss/Mrs. is used for females, Mr. for males, and Mx. as a gender-neutral/nonbinary title.

DON’T be vague. Explicitly lay out who exactly is invited so you don’t have any unexpected +1s. We will discuss more on this below.

DO use your guest’s full names on invitations.

DON’T misspell names, street names, cities, etc. Delegate a member of your wedding party or another third party to spell-check everything before mailing.

DO send out invitations in a timely manner. Etiquette says to mail out invitations about 2 months prior to your wedding day.
