With regard to public health, the safety of the 5 INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS OWNERS that operate within our walls & an order from Governor Tony Evers, THE SHOPPE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Of course WE are all extremely saddened by this news but are most concerned for the state of our community. The Shoppe has been open in some capacity every day since July 20, 2012 (Y'all know Antonio is there basically every day). So this is weird. Very weird. For all uf us.

I can assure you that KAIA, ANTONIO, CARLY, DEANNA & I will all be ready to deal with those roots and overgrown fades as soon as we are able.

Until then, here's what you can do to help these amazing businesses out right now. This is something that many of my clients have already reached out to do and I am so very grateful.

CONTACT YOUR HAIRDRESSER DIRECTLY TO:

-Check on your favorite hair stylist!!!
-Prepay for your next hair appointment.
-Offer to pay for multiple appointments in advance
-Send a year's worth of gratuity in advance instead of at the end of the year.
-Give Holiday bonuses early.
-Offer to put 20/50/100 towards rent or supplies.
-Buy Gift Certificates for EVERYONE you know.
-PreOrder/Prepay for products for pick up when things are stable.
-Ask for advice on home care and offer to pay them for their time on the phone or video chat.
-Book as many appointments in advance for you and your family as you can so that they can see their future as stable. We all need stability & positive vibes.

I remember when the recession hit & everyone was losing their jobs in both the public and private sectors... I was fresh off of deciding NOT to get married, overspending on my first condo purchase and I had just opened my previous salon (Yan). I remember feeling so sad for everyone who worked in education, government, airlines, large corporations, banks, etc. I remember feeling EXTREMELY GRATEFUL THAT NOTHING could ever take my job away. Through the recession, Kaia & I gave deep discounts, waived fees especially for the kids & gave away free products left & right so that folks could keep their hair routines somewhat normal because WHEN YOU LOOK GOOD YOU FEEL GOOD. Everyone was so appreciative and when we bounced back from that dark financial time, we were all happy to know that we had an amazing network to support us! It was so lovely.

The tables have turned, my friends. You are likely off work too, with much uncertainty, yes. But many of you are still getting paid. These stylists along with many others across the state ARE NOT GETTING PAID. This aspect of the service industry is no different than the rest...
Where did you hear about those amazing new restaurants & bars & shops & events: probably from your HAIRDRESSER.
Hairdressers help the world go round through beauty, bliss and adoration for alllllll our peeps 💜

My message is this.
Hairdressers touch your hair & your hearts. Hairdressers help you feel like your best self.
Hairdressers listen and share & give advice.
Hairdressers keep you in the loop.
Hairdressers know the scoops of all 18 of your cousins / grandchildren/ kids/ co-workers/ bffs/ etc. and ask about them by name.
Hairdressers LOVE you so much that they will work on their days off just to please you.
Hairdressers don't stop because of 12-14 inches of snow, or a polar vortex, they open more appointments because they know you are off work/school.

I love you all, more than words can say. I appreciate every single sliver of support over my 20 years in this hands-on, hearts open profession I chose. I appreciate your support of the other businesses that have began/grown within The Shoppe. I appreciate YOU.

I cannot wait to hug everyone again. I am missing those big soulful, loving squeezes from all of you!

Omg. I LOVE AN ACCIDENTALLY AMAZING HAIR DAY!! Cuuuuuute, right?! This is the craziest combination of products, keep reading for more scoops!

Thoroughly Brush hair /

shampoo with Davines Oi Shampoo /

Comb shampoo through ends to remove loose hair /

Repeat if necessary /

Condition with Oi Conditioner /

Combing again, leave on for 3 mins /

Towel dry for 10 mins then air dry for 20 /

Apply
Warming Clove Joint & Muscle Rub to lengths & ends /

Spritz & Scrunch with Ionian Sea Water /

Roll into a soft bun for 1 hour /

Drop Bun & shake out hair, VOILA!

My point is... Don't be afraid to find different uses for what's already in your cabinet! Also, ALWAYS TAKE SEA SALT WATER HOME WITH YOU!!

I want a Sunday kind of Love 💜

Begin in Downward Facing Dog for 5 breaths // Adho Mukha Svanasana

On an inhale, keeping left toes pointed to the earth, lift left leg high, square hips & shoulders if possible// Tri Pada Ahdo Mukha Svanasana

As you exhale, step the left leg through to the front of your mat. Make your way through stable lunge & lift to Crescent Pose with arms raised high allowing a strong supportive bend in low back // Anjenayasana

Inhale as you drop the back heel on a 30/45 degree angle, engage lower abdominal band, tuck your tailbone down, removing arch from low back & find Warrior One // Virabhadrasana 1

Exhale

Inhale as you straighten the front leg, maybe shorten your stance a bit

Exhale

Inhale, lift the ribcage out of your waist to create more length in the spine

Exhaling with a flat back, slowly fold over your front leg and move towards Pyramid Pose // Parsovottanasana

Allow spine to round slightly as you use your blocks for support & come into the fold

On an inhale, with hands on blocks and a strong, flat back lift up to Pyramid w Halfway lift // Ardha Parsovottanasana

Exhale, remove the blocks & sink deeper into Parsovottanasana

Repeat on right side.

OR JUST GET DRESSED & HEAD OVER FOR MY 11AM YOGA CLASS
