Every summer, we hear a version of the same story.

A couple found a DJ online for a price that seemed almost too good to be true, and they booked, but the contract was either nonexistent, or didn't look professional. The DJ showed up late, never met with the client to discuss the timeline or preferences, played songs off a phone, and left before the party was over.

Or worse, they didn't show up at all.

There are clear warning signs before you ever hand over a deposit. A great DJ will answer every question you have confidently and immediately. If you're not getting satisfactory answers, consider it a red flag.

Here's a question we love: "But what do you actually DO up there?"

Fair question. From the outside, it probably looks like someone pressing buttons and nodding. From the inside, here's a slice of what's actually happening:

Every few minutes, we're scanning the room. Who just walked off the dance floor? What age group is most engaged? What tempo shift would bring more people out? This isn't instinct, it's a skill built over hundreds of events.

We're also coordinating with your caterer on dinner timing, watching the clock against your timeline, managing song requests from 150 different people with 150 different opinions, and monitoring equipment continuously so a small issue never becomes a visible problem.

The best compliment we ever get: "I don't know how it happened, but the dance floor was packed all night." That's not an accident. That's a professional doing their job.
