Grandma's lil Garden Welcome to Grandma’s Little Garden! We grow fresh, vibrant cut flowers right here in Wisconsin. Flowers are limited so call to order or message me on messenger.

Catch us at the Waukesha and West Allis Farmers Markets with small bouquets, lush large arrangements, and an interactive bouquet bar to build your own mix. My Grandma, Youa Moua, is 90 year old but don't let that fool you. She can still bring about a plentiful and beautiful garden for everyone to enjoy. Come join me her granddaughter, Paula, as I take this journey of the flowers growing in our little backyard. We create beautiful locally-grown, seasonal, hand-tied bouquets from May upto October. We are also here at the Farmers' Market in Waukesha, and West Allis on Saturday during market hours, so come check out our gorgeous flowers in display.

Sunday morning haul from my favorite vendor at the Shorewood Farmers Market! 🌸✨ (If you haven't checked it out, it runs Sundays 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM and is such a gem!)
​I picked up some gorgeous 'Eveline' dahlias—those soft, creamy blooms with the gentle kiss of lavender at the center are just stunning. 😍
​As you guys know, propagation can be a bit of a trial-and-error process! Three of my stem cuttings from the last batch didn’t make it, so I’m stepping right back up to the plate and taking three new cuttings from these stems to replace them. Plus, I'm already eyeing this vendor's tuber list for next season!

Stop putting your cut dahlias in plain cold water! 🛑🔥

​Dahlias love a warm bath AND a special nourishing boost! Here’s why I condition freshly harvested dahlias in simmering hot water:

​✨ Forces out trapped air from their hollow stems so they drink fast.

✨ Sears stem ends for maximum water intake and a MUCH longer vase life!

​(Pro tip: Dip stem bases in steaming water—not boiling)

​🧪 My Go-To DIY Flower Food Recipe:

​1 quart water (warm/simmering)

​1 tbsp sugar ➡️ Feeds the blooms so they stay vibrant.

​Splash of white vinegar ➡️ Lowers pH to help stems draw up water efficiently.

​Splash of hydrogen peroxide ➡️ Kills bacteria in the water to prevent cloudy stems and stem rot.

3 Rules to Make Your Dahlias Last Up to a Week! 🌸✨
​Ever buy market dahlias only to watch them droop the next day or within a few days? No, that’s not right! The secret comes down to harvest timing, bloom inspection, and proper conditioning with hot water!
​1️⃣ Ask the Seller: Ask when they were cut. Aim for stems harvested within the last 24–48 hours.
2️⃣ Inspect the Petals: Check that the back petals are firm and there’s no loose pollen in the center.
3️⃣ Prep with Hot Water: Trim 1” at a 45° angle under running water and place them into hot water mixed with flower food! Hot water helps clear air bubbles in the stems so they hydrate instantly.
​💐 DIY Flower Food Recipe: (1qt water)
​1 tablespoon Sugar (nourishes the blooms)
​A splash of White Vinegar (lowers pH for better water flow)
​A splash of Hydrogen Peroxide (keeps water clear of bacteria)
​Mix into your hot water before placing your freshly trimmed stems in the vase. Change water and recut stems every 2 days!
