Meet the newest politician on the farm: Senator Gobbles! 🦃

Senator Gobbles is a beautiful Bronze Heritage turkey, and she has already made herself right at home. Her favorite hobby seems to be following me around and pecking at the strings on my shorts whenever she gets the chance. Apparently, she believes all dangling strings require immediate investigation!

Bronze Heritage turkeys are one of the oldest traditional turkey breeds in America. Unlike the broad-breasted turkeys commonly raised for commercial production, heritage turkeys can naturally breed, fly short distances, and are known for their strong foraging abilities. They have stunning bronze-colored feathers that shimmer in the sunlight and are generally active, curious birds with lots of personality.

We’re excited to watch Senator Gobbles grow up and rule the farm with her curiosity, charm, and constant inspections of everyone’s shoelaces and drawstrings. Welcome to the flock, Senator Gobbles! She is currently queen of the coop and bosses all the others around. ❤️🦃

🚨🐔 Farm Diva Alert! 🐔🚨

Everyone, meet Charlotte — our beautiful black Midnight Majesty Marans hen and self-appointed queen of the farm. 👑✨

Charlotte spends her days doing what she does best:
🎵 Listening to country music (she swears she laid her first egg during a John Anderson song).
🌳 Swinging on the farm like she’s starring in her own music video.
🪱 Pecking worms with the determination of a woman who knows exactly what she wants.

A few fun facts about Charlotte:
🥚 Midnight Majesty Marans are known for laying gorgeous dark brown eggs.
🖤 Their glossy black feathers can shimmer with green and purple highlights in the sunlight.
🤠 They are generally calm, friendly birds… unless you’re a worm. Then all bets are off.

Charlotte firmly believes that dirt baths are a spa treatment, worms are a delicacy, and every country song was written about her.

If you visit the farm and hear country music coming from the coop, don’t worry—it’s probably just Charlotte living her best life. ❤️🐔

🌟 Exciting news from the farm! 🌟
We’ve welcomed a wonderful new flock to the homestead, and I’m absolutely in love with them already! My favorite breed so far has to be the Lavender Orpington. These beautiful birds are such sweet, docile, and friendly giants — perfect for families and beginners. They have gorgeous lavender-colored fluffy feathers that keep them warm in colder weather, and they’re known as excellent dual-purpose birds. They can lay around 150–220 medium to large light brown eggs per year while also providing great meat. Calm, gentle, and curious — they’ve quickly become the stars of the coop!22
We’re also raising:
• 3 heritage turkeys
• 5 Black Swedish Ducks (hardy, excellent foragers with glossy black feathers and a white bib)
• 1 Blue Swedish Duck (beautiful bluish-slate plumage, calm and great layers)
• Amberlinks
• Ameraucanas
• Starlight Green Eggers
• Midnight Majesty Marians
Everyone is settling in beautifully and getting along so well. We can’t wait to start collecting fresh farm eggs next spring! 🥚🐔🦆🦃
