Well, we finally fixed that flag pole and got some fancy new flags. It was a long time coming and it took some old school cleverness, but here we are, flying high.

They say The Lavender Lady prefers the head of the table in this room. She’s quiet, proper, and smells of fresh-cut lavender. Not one of our more active spirits, but certainly one of the most beloved.

Teas were once a regular tradition here...and I'd love to bring them back. Maybe even a Wayside Inn themed murder mystery tea this fall- if She is willing to help host.

Would you be one who would join us for tea with The Lavender Lady?

One of my favorite things? Watching families crowd around this old chess table, playing, laughing, fully present.

There are TVs and Wifi in every guest room...but they choose this.
A real game. In real time.
Real connection!

Tell me, are you team chess? Or team checkers? If you have another game that brings your family together let me know, I'm always happy to buy a new game to play! (And yes! I really will play a game with you if you stop by!)

These historic stairs have creaked under footsteps for over 225 years. As we make thoughtful updates throughout the Inn, we are preserving every piece of authentic character that makes it special. Each time I walk through the grand entrance, I envision Ms.Maggie Rhodes welcoming the likes of Rockefeller Jr, Edison, Ford, and Firestone into this very lobby, and escorting them to their rooms. I imagine the podium standing here and the hostess greeting well dressed ladies and gentlemen as they entered for an evening of fine dining. I can nearly hear the war torn generals as they shuffled up for a good nights rest. Never do I walk past this spot and not recall the days gone by that I was not blessed to see.

From the blacksmith hinges on what was the back door, to the railing worn by the glide of many hands, the history seeps from the walls here. Tag someone who would love to wander the halls of many of the greats.

Reminder, Wayside Inn has Yard Crawl spaces and tables for rent. We have plenty of area for you to grab your spot. Bartering welcome!

I know I mention Billy Sous a decent amount, but you probably don't know why. I think this should clear up any confusion. THIS is community. This is what that looks like. He is an example we should all be following and I'm so proud to call him my friend. I am taking the time to learn as much as I can from him, because as a human, he is just about as good as it gets.
