The 2019 Chinese New Festival will include the “Charm of Hangzhou: Music and Exhibition of Hangzhou’s Intangible Cultural Heritage”
“韵味杭州”——杭州非物质文化遗产保护项目巡展

1. 杭州刺绣 Hangzhou Embroidery
杭州刺绣,亦称为“宋绣”,为中国优秀的民族传统工艺之一,其吸收并融合苏、湘、蜀、粤四大名绣之长,绣法多变,尤以盘金绣、包金绣、银线绣、彩丝绣等著称于世。作品种类繁多,有花轿帐幔、龙船梢旗、神服戏装等。2009年列入第三批浙江省非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
Hangzhou Embroidery, also called Song (Dynasty) Embroidery, is a style of Chinese embroidery that absorbed the strong points of Suzhou, Hunan, Sichuan and Guangdong embroideries, well known especially for its golden, silver and color threading techniques. The various works of Hangzhou Embroidery include curtains of the traditional sedan chair, dragon boat banners and theatrical costumes. It was listed in 2009 as intangible cultural heritage of Zhejiang Province.

2. 传统戏剧服装制作技艺 Traditional Theatrical Costumes
中国南宋时期,杭州发展出极具地方特色的以男性工匠从事刺绣的杭绣工艺,俗称“男工绣”,并将该技艺融合进神服戏装的制作中,通过戏剧服饰表现不同人物特点,成为中国传统戏剧文化的重要组成部分。传统戏服的质料采用布、绫、绸、缎,颜色纹样丰富,有龙凤、松柏、花鸟、流云、八宝、仙鹤等图案,制作工艺流程严密,技术含量高。2016年,列入第六批杭州市非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
During the Southern Song Dynasty, Hangzhou Embroidery was commonly known as nangongxiu (embroidery by man) which was used in making theatrical costumes. The costumes were made of cloth, silk and satin featuring designs of dragon, phoenix, pine and cypress trees, flowers, birds, clouds, “eight treasures” (Buddhist) and cranes. Nangongxiu was on the list of the 6th batch of intangible cultural heritages of Hangzhou.


3. 制扇技艺(王星记扇) Wangxingji Fan
王星记扇,亦称为“杭扇”,创始于清光绪元年(1875年)。其素以技艺精湛、造型典雅、品位高档著称,被誉为“东方瑰宝”而闻名海内外。杭扇产品已发展到19大类10000多个花式品种,远销东南亚、欧美等20多个国家和地区。2008年,列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
Wangxingji Fan, also called Hangzhou fan, dates back to 1875 during the Qing Dynasty and has enjoyed the reputation of being an “oriental treasure” for its exquisite, elegant and high quality. With a great variety of more than 10,000 designs divided into 19 categories, Wangxingji fans have been exported to over 20 countries and regions in Southeast Asia, Europe and North America. In 2008, Wangsingji Fan was listed as China’s national intangible cultural heritage.

Ms. Zhao Pingjia, senior handicraft artist who is among the first group of people recognized as intangible cultural heritage successors of Zhejiang Province.

4. 富阳纸伞制作技艺 Fuyang Paper Umbrella
富阳纸伞以竹、木、竹节、皮纸、桐油为原料,经过40道主要工序制作而成,品种丰富,包括庭院伞、舞蹈伞、油纸伞、儿童伞、趣味伞、玩具伞等。富阳纸伞结实耐用,材质天然,伞面以传统的手绘花鸟、富春山水图案为主,也有清一色大红、鹅黄、淡紫等。2012年,列入第四批浙江省非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
There are 40 steps in making a Fuyang paper umbrella which, in terms of material used, is made from bamboo, wood, mulberry park paper and tung oil. There is a rich variety of Fuyang paper umbrellas used for different purposes and people. The umbrella is durable with canopies mostly adorned with hand-painted flowers, birds or landscapes and also colored in pure red, yellow or light purple. It was listed in 2012 as intangible cultural heritage of Zhejiang Province.

5. 富阳竹纸制作技艺 Fuyang Bamboo Paper
富阳造纸术,始于唐代,盛于宋代,具有悠久的历史,自古就有"京都状元富阳纸,十件元书考进士"之说。元书纸是富阳造纸的主要品种。用嫩竹浆制作的元书纸,精工细做,纸面光洁,色泽白净,不受虫蛀,不易褪色,纸薄若蝉翼,韧力似纺绸。2006年,列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
The technique of making the Fuyang bamboo paper dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and peaked in p***c recognition in the Song Dynasty when there was a saying that goes “Only the winners of imperial examination are eligible to use the Fuyang paper.” The yuanshu paper is the main type of Fuyang paper, made from the pulp of bamboo twigs, which is fine-textured, insect-resistant, super thin, as durable as silk and does not fade easily. It was included in the first batch of China’s national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.

6. 杭州黄杨木雕 Boxwood Carving
黄杨木雕取材于黄杨木的自然形态,雕琢而成,是一种圆雕艺术。黄杨木雕以人物动物,山水花鸟为主题,有鲜明的地方文化特色和极高的历史、艺术价值。2014年,列入第五批杭州市非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
The Boxwood Carving is a type of carving in the round. The carvings are configured according to the natural shapes of wood pieces found. Human figures, animals, flowers, birds, landscapes are usually the subjects of the boxwood carvings with distinct local cultural character and high historical and artistic value. The Boxwood Carving was listed in 2014 among the 5th batch of intangible cultural heritages of Hangzhou.

7. 杭州雕版印刷技艺 Woodblock Printing
雕版印刷术始于隋末唐初,即公元7世纪初期,至今已有1400多年历史,是中国古代应用最早的印刷术,凝聚着中国造纸术、制墨术、雕刻术、摹拓术等几种优秀的传统工艺。雕版印刷术大体分为:临摹、勾描、粉色、雕版、印刷、修整、装帧等程序。2011年,列入第三批国家级非物质文化遗产扩展项目名录。
Woodblock printing dates back the early years of the 7th century during the late Sui Dynasty and early Tang Dynasty. It is the earliest form of printing in Chinese history that draws on techniques of paper-making, ink-making, engraving and rubbing. By steps it comprises copying, delineation, coloring, block-engraving, printing, correcting and binding. It is on the list of the 3rd batch of China’s national intangible cultural heritage promulgated in 2011.

8. 江南丝竹 Silk and Bamboo Music
江南丝竹产生并流传于江、浙、沪地区。在音乐形态上有着鲜明的特征,其音响形态上的“细”、旋律形态上的“密”、节奏形态上的“稳”,充分体现了中国江南文化的精神意蕴。2008年,列入第一批国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
The “Silk and Bamboo Music” is popular in Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Shanghai, which is marked by exquisite and sprightly character in line with that of culture in this region. The music is listed in the 1st batch of China’s national intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
