Celebrate the Earth Day with this yummy “King Karl Earth Day Cocktail” from Kanon Organic Vodka (named for a man who lived in the 1500′s and made Kanon’s “environmentally friendly existence possible”).
Recipe: King Karl Earth Day Cocktail
- 2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
- 1⁄2 oz fresh organic lime juice
- 1⁄2 oz Agave
- 3 organic Strawberries
Method: muddle strawberries in the bottom of a shaker, add all other ingredients, shake and strain.
Glass: Martini or any preferred
Garnish: Rosemary Sprig

DID YOU KNOW? You can make amazing cocktails using wine as the main ingredient. Gary Sullivan created this food-friendly sangria around rosé. "I wanted to maintain the wine's fresh fruit flavors," he says.
Ingredients (for 6 drinks):
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup boiling water
15 sage leaves, plus more for garnish
One 750-milliliter bottle rosé
Ice
Lemon twists, for garnish
In a small, heatproof bowl, stir the honey into the boiling water until dissolved. Add the 15 sage leaves and muddle them with a wooden spoon. Let the syrup cool slightly, then strain it into a pitcher, pressing hard on the sage leaves. Pour in the rosé and stir well. Serve the sangria in wineglasses over ice, garnishing each glass with a lemon twist and sage leaf.

Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
- 5 Fresh basil leaves
- 1.5 oz Don Julio Blanco Tequila
- 0.5 oz Green Chartreuse
- 1 oz Ruby red grapefruit juice
- 0.75 oz Lime juice
In a shaker, muddle the simple syrup and basil. Add the remaining ingredients and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a thin apple slice or a maraschino cherry.
