Our Marty Eli Schwartz!!!!! ❤️❤️👏👏🎬🎬
Marty Eli Schwartz is a veteran of the American film and television industry whose career has spanned decades. For Miami Vice, he worked as a First Assistant Director during Seasons 1 and 2 (1984–1986), helping shape some of the show's most iconic episodes. He also worked on another Michael Mann production, Crime Story, as First Assistant Director from 1986 to 1987.
Schwartz left his mark on the first two seasons of Miami Vice, working on memorable episodes such as Golden Triangle: Part 2, Lombard, Give a Little, Take a Little, and Made for Each Other in Season 1. In Season 2, he continued as First Assistant Director on episodes including Whatever Works, Buddies, Junk Love, Back in the World, and Payback.
Marty could even be spotted in the background of some episodes. In Made for Each Other, Schwartz is the person who gets run over by the stolen truck while sitting on the toilet, adding another unusual connection between him and the series. He was also present in the Season 1 finale, Lombard, where he worked as a stunt performer and appeared alongside Dennis Farina.
But Miami Vice was only one part of his long career. Schwartz has worked as First Assistant Director on productions such as The Karate Kid, The Pink Panther 2, Furious 7, Night at the Museum, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and The Leisure Seeker, as well as television productions including Justified.
His career has also included work as a location manager, including involvement with Raging Bull, although he was not credited for that work. He has also worked as a producer, co-producer, and consulting producer, showing just how versatile he has been throughout the industry. His career began in the late 1970s and continues to the present, with his more recent work including Mary, where he served as co-producer and First Assistant Director.
With decades of experience behind the camera and contributions to so many memorable productions, Marty Eli Schwartz is one of those industry veterans whose work often happens behind the scenes but plays an important role in bringing productions to life.
Thank you, Marty, for decades of hard work and dedication to the film and television industry!
