Whitey's Pool Hall Saturday 8 Ball Tournament results

Zach had an OBGYN appointment in the morning so we filled in for the night. The 10 Ball Break+Run totalled at $11,850 after ticket sales. Myself, Tre Baker, Bullfrog, Tre Baker, Bullfrog, and also Bullfrog would all come up dry. The pot survives a hit from what could have been a big chunk from that group of players! We used BT Kelle's tablet so I don't remember the bracket but here are your final results.

1.) Robbie Casse
2.) Tre Baker
3.) Toro

Look at that, anyone can win this tournament if my mullet ass can take it down! We'll have fifty people there next week with hopes and dreams now. We should anyway with the size of the Break+Run pot. If you ain't there, you hate money!

Whitey's Ball Count 9 Ball Doubles Tournament results

This is becoming quite the poplar format, as the field filled up quite fast in just a couple of weeks. In our 4th edition of the Ball Count 9 ball thirty-two teams made their way over for a piece of $15,450 in total cash up for grabs. The 10 Ball Break+Run pot was active and totaled at a nice $11,150 after ticket sales. With five pots at $2,000 and a sixth for $1,150 the results are as followed. NoPay Devin broke dry, Sammy Chappetta snapped two balls being half eligible for $200, Rachel Stewart broke dry, Sammy broke dry, Ricky Frught broke dry, and Devin broke dry. We sold over $1,000 in tickets so the hit still left us in a surplus after the dust settled.

On to the main event. This would be our first time upping the limit to fifteen from fourteen. The handicaps would prove to be the equalizer as of the seven teams playing as the max, only one would cash. The calcutta wasn't as super high as it usually is, but was still solid. Owning yourself and snapping off the event would net your team a solid $2,000. Not too shabby for a Saturday at the pool hall. Out of the box Travis Shipley/Tony Bartletto would takedown Savannah Weaver/Adam Graves , Kalon Kast/Zach Lawson, Josh Lee/Jimmy Horn, and then Rob Holliday/Brady Cure to reach the hill match. On the other end, Ashleigh/Kerry Dempster would takedown Gretchen/Jeremy Marshmallow, Angela Atchlet/Josh Charbonnet, Ben Parker/Zach Cohen, and then Chris Kott/Mark Shaddinger to reach the hill match. Travis/Tony would advance to the finals with the hot seat. After losing the first round, Michael Crayton/Desiree Godfrey would go on a run shooting down Tugboat/Michael Le, Brice Yaeger/Magan Breaux, Jiggles/Donovan, Josh Lee/Jimmy Horn, and then Myself/Kahn Miller to reach the final six. They would fall just short to Chris/Mark but will would go home with some tournament cash. On the other end Painter/Nip would takedown Sammy Chappetta/Julie Choe, Ben/Zach, before meeting up with Rob/Brady in the final 6. Painter/Nip would takedown Rob/Brady and then Chris/Mark to reach the final three. Rob/Brady would takehome some tournament cash and Chris/Mark would go home with both tournament and calculatta cash. Determined for the rematch with the hotseat winners, Ashleigh/Kerry would send Painter/Nip home to advance to the finals. Knowing Kerry had to be up early to go fishing, Travis/Tony would so kindly waste no time to win the first set for the big cheddar!

1.) Travis Shipley/Tony Bartletto
2.) Assleigh/Kerry Dempster
3.) Donald "Painter" Ludwig/Paul "Nip" Smith
4.) Chris Kott/Mark Shaddinger
5.) Michael Crayton/Desiree Godfrey - Robert Holliday/Brady Cure

Whew, what a long day and night it was. But that's the grind for ya! Thanks to everyone who came out and shot it out this weekend. We'll be back around eventually with another weekend banger for ya, stay tuned! Until then, as always.....

Whitey's Pool Hall Saturday Weekly 8 Ball Tournament results

Zach was sore from his pap smear so we came out of retirement to keep the show going. Twenty-two players made their way over to Derbigny St. for a piece of $13,970 in total cash up for grabs. The 10 Ball Break+Run pot would take in a hefty $1,220 in ticket sales to total the pot at $12,570. There would be six pots for $2,000 and one for $570. Mayo would run three balls for $600! My mullet ass would break dry twice in a row. Marshmallow would launch the cue ball off the table. Francisco would takedown two balls for $400! Marshmallow would redeem himself, running four balls for $800! Diego would break dry in the final pot. $1,800 paid out and the pot is still double digits! Biggest break and run pot in the south right now!

The field was stout and would rake in just shy of a grand in the calcutta. Winning this one would net you a solid payday for a night out of fun. Out of the box Joey A would takedown Myself, Sammy, Francisco, and then Jimmy M to reach the hill match. On the other end Diego would draw a bye and then takedown Hector R, Hector H, and then Marshmallow to reach the hill match. Staying in stride, Joey A would advance to the finals with the hot seat. On the loser's side Marshmallow would take down Hector R and then Jimmy M to reach the final three. Not ready to hit the buffet just yet he would take down Diego to reach the finals. Looking out for Marshmallow's health, Joey would send him home with no ice cream. Joey snaps off the big cheddar!

1.) Joey A
2.) Jeremy Bullfrog Marshmallow
3.) Diego

Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday night. It was fun jumping back at the helm, but it's back to retirement for now. But, as always.....

Whitey's Pool Hall 8 Ball Doubles results

We had thirty teams make their way over to Derbigny Street to shoot for a piece of $5,450 in total cash up for grabs. This would be our first time having the handicap limit at thirteen instead of twelve, and it made for a STOUT field. The players took advantage of making tough teams with seventeen of them being the max handicap. Throw in some more tough eight-twelve ranked teams and there really wasn't a clever favorite in the bracket. And we love to see a good ole shoot out where it's anyone's day to win. We had a lot of upsets and down to the wire matches all day. The calcutta was pure gambling. The blind bid favorite only won their first match and then proceeded to go two and bbq. I have to say, this was one of my favorite tournaments I have ever run in the decade I've been running them now. From how smoothly the bracket ran, no drawn out matches holding up the bracket, very few complaints, and just good ole tough pool. Thanks to the players for making it an easy and fun day as a director. But anyway, back to the action.

The bracket was up and it was showtime. If you could nab yourself in the calcutta and then snap off this gauntlet of a field you'd earn an honest $2,300. Not too shabby for a Saturday on the town. Out of the gate team Lauren Vaughn/Mike Luster would come out swinging, shooting down Fabio/Johnathan J, Cannon/Chris, Hector R/Juan, and then Oscar/Dave to reach the hill match. On the bottom half of the bracket, it seems to be where all the super tough teams were drawn. A pure minefield. But team Ronnie D/Bryce Clark would escape through the Beaches of Normandy taking down Tim/Corey, Glawson/Myself, NoPay/Pierre, and then Tyler Sevin/Kaden Burgess to reach the hill match. In a tough fought match, Lauren/Mike would advance to the finals with the hot seat to secure themselves a solid payday. On the losers side, Glawson/Myself would go on a run taking down Ben Parker/Barret Phillips, Tre Baker/Adam, Joe Cooper/Mike Frank, and Hector R/Juan, before falling to Tyler/Kaden. They would send us home with a modest 5th/6th place cash finish. On the other end of the losers journey Francisco/Curt Calegan would takedown Jonathan Madere/Donovan, NoPay/Pierre, and then Oscar/Dave before falling to Tyler/Kaden in the 4th place next. Oscar/Dave take home the other half of the 5th/6th place cash while Francisco/Curt nab themselves some calcutta cash as well with a respectable 4th place finish. Looking for their rematch, Ronnie/Bryce would advance to the finals. Tyler/Kaden earn themselves a much earned payday for 3rd. For all the marbles we had ourselves a rematch from the winners bracket final. It was a tough well fought match, but there would be no double dip last night. Not even one scoop. Lauren/Mike would close down the ice cream shop with no service, taking down the first set for the big cheddar! Now here's the best part. Most of the teams playing as 13's sold for $200-$400. This max team snapped off the big shabang while selliing for...... $80. How ya like them apples. Congrats to Ronnie/Bryce for being the only non max handicap team in the money, placing 2nd as a 10 handicap.

1.) Lauren Vaughn/Michael Luster
2.) Ronnie "Dizzle" Dennies/Bryce Clark
3.) Tyler Sevin/Kaden Burgess
4.) Francisco Diaz/Curt Calegan
5.) Jonathan Glawson/Robbie Casse - Oscar/Dave

Thanks to everyone who came out to shoot yesterday. We will absolutely be using this format again. Stay tuned for more tournaments in the future run to the RC standard for your enjoyment. Until then......
