🎳 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Josh Kennedy 🎳

Josh Kennedy started bowling at age 11, spending Saturday mornings taking advantage of 99-cent games at Brunswick Zone. What began as something fun quickly became something he had a natural feel for.

His tournament journey began in 2020. A difficult experience at Team USA Trials pushed him to work harder. When Minnesota centers closed during the pandemic, Josh drove 45 minutes to Wisconsin to keep practicing.

That work led to several major accomplishments:

• 2024 CBA champion
• 300 game at the 2025 Team USA Trials
• 2025 KFYR Tournament champion
• 2025 Agent Ong Open champion

Josh’s Agent Ong Open story began with a top-four finish at Agent Ong Open II – Strikes Back. His worst game came during the stepladder, but the loss gave him the motivation to return stronger.

One year later, he arrived at The Trilogy with a different mindset. He stayed open-minded, trusted his versatility, and focused on one shot at a time.

As the top seed, Josh faced Cortez Schenck for the championship. His biggest challenge was staying calm and resisting the urge to watch the scoreboard. He trusted the part of the lane that had carried him all week and finished the job.

The victory brought a five-figure payday and a Roto Grip contract, but Josh says the memories mean the most.

“It felt like lightning struck me. I didn’t know what to say or do.”

For Josh, the Agent Ong Open stands apart because of three things:

• A prize fund far beyond most events he bowls in Minnesota
• A field filled with elite players he once watched and admired
• A private pattern that tests preparation, versatility, and decision-making

Josh now returns to Agent Ong Open IV - "All In" with a chance to become the event’s first back-to-back champion. He is practicing three to four days each week, sharpening his spare game, rebuilding his mental strength, and attacking every weakness.

Away from bowling, Josh enjoys golf, working out, music, walks, and finding new adventures.

He thanks Briley Haugh, Will Mateffy, Brandon Kreyer, the Blainbrook Bowl tournament team and staff, his family, Carol Wagner, John Hommes, John Kreyer Jr., Jessica Boyer, and everyone who has supported him through the good and difficult days.

The champion is coming to South Point to defend his title.

🎳 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Brandon M Kreyer 🎳

🔁 Returning Agent Ong Open Bowler

Bowling has been part of Brandon Kreyer’s life since the beginning.

Both of his parents worked in a bowling center, and his father owned a pro shop. Brandon grew up around the lanes, watched the PBA every chance he had, and began competing seriously in adult events when he turned 18.

His PBA experience includes two Regional events and the World Series of Bowling. He describes the jump from amateur competition as humbling, with every event giving him new lessons to take home.

His biggest moment came at the 2026 PBA Cheetah Championship when he made his first television show in his hometown. His family and friends were there to witness a moment he will never forget.

Brandon feels most comfortable playing the gutter.

“Plastic, rubber, reactive, you name it. As long as I have room near the gutter, I will be up there.”

Brandon competed in Agent Ong Open III – The Trilogy after traveling to Phoenix with one of his teammates. He arrived unsure of what to expect but left with a strong appreciation for the event and the opportunities it gives bowlers.

He advanced to the Cashers Round but struggled during the final four games and missed the top 24. That experience has stayed with him.

His goal for Agent Ong Open IV - "All In" is clear:

• Reach match play
• Bounce back from last year
• Earn his place in the bracket

This will also be Brandon’s first time competing in Las Vegas. He is looking forward to experiencing South Point Bowling Plaza and the energy of a venue built for a major event.

When Brandon is not competing, he is usually working behind the lanes as a pinsetter mechanic. He is learning every part of the job and hopes to run a bowling center someday.

Brandon credits his parents, especially his father, for introducing him to the sport and helping him grow. He also recognizes Donny May, the late owner of Blainbrook Bowl in Blaine, Minnesota. Donny gave Brandon opportunities to practice, believed in him, and inspired him in countless ways before passing away in April.

Brandon hopes to make Donny proud, whether through a major accomplishment on the lanes or by running a bowling center of his own one day.

Youth and collegiate bowlers have the opportunity to step onto the lanes at the South Point Bowling Plaza and compete in the same event and on the same conditions as the rest of the field.

A few important details for our youth bowlers:

🎳 Bowlers under 18 must have a signed parental consent form.

🎳 A bowler’s age is determined as of the start date of the Agent Ong Open.

🎓 All prize winnings earned by youth bowlers will be paid through the USBC SMART Scholarship Program.
