Quick little pitstop on the road to Vegas and I get this video message from Pete Weber. Apparently I’m pretty popular for the Wednesday night Callout.

Can’t lie and say it wouldn’t be an honor to bowl against you but could you imagine a hack like me pulling out the win? 😜

See you on Wednesday Pete!

🎳 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Nickolas Tnt Freiberg 🎳

📍 Sparks, Nevada
🏆 Three-Time PBA Regional Champion
🔥 Most Recent Win: PBA Elite Regional West Event #2 at Black Oak
🆕 First-Time Agent Ong Open Competitor

Nickolas Frieberg was born into a bowling family. Both of his parents bowled, and they had him on the lanes as soon as he was able to walk.

At age 13, Nick won his local Youth Masters tournament while competing against bowlers as old as 18. That victory showed him he had the ability to compete at a high level and confirmed how much he loved the game.

His father has been the biggest influence on his bowling career. Once Nick said he wanted to become the best, his dad began picking him up after school every day so they could work on his game. He pushed Nick physically and helped him become stronger mentally.

Working in a pro shop has also helped Nick understand equipment and improve his overall game.

Nick recently earned his third PBA Regional title by winning PBA Elite Regional West Event #2 at Black Oak.

He entered the event knowing he would need to remain patient, make good decisions and take advantage of every opportunity against a talented field.

The turning point came when Nick saw his ball motion change from nearly nothing to the best among the eight remaining bowlers. From there, he stayed calm, trusted his game and focused on one shot at a time.

“Winning the title was a great feeling. It meant a lot to see the hard work I’ve been putting in pay off.”

Nick is proud of the victory, but he is already focused on continuing to improve and building on that momentum.

That next challenge will be his first Agent Ong Open.

Nick decided to enter because he wanted to test himself against some of the best bowlers in the game. He sees Agent Ong Open IV – All In as an opportunity to gain experience, learn and continue developing at a higher level.

Away from the lanes, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing video games and binge-watching television shows.

He thanks Storm Bowling and VISE Inserts for their continued support. He also thanks everyone back home who continues to cheer for him, especially his parents for believing in him and encouraging him to follow his dream of becoming a professional bowler.

Congratulations on your third regional title, Nick. Welcome to the Agent Ong Open!

They’re available for school events, school sporting events, church events, parties, company appreciation catering, and other catering needs. Keep them in mind for your next event!

I’m proud to have BroDawgs | BroBQ as a partner of the Agent Ong Open and Southwest Swing. I also want to recognize the man behind it, Theo Douthit.

Theo has been with me since day one as my Tournament Director for the Agent Ong Open. What started as a business relationship has grown into a great friendship.

Watching his tournament club, Complete Bowling Events, continue to succeed and seeing BroDawgs | BroBQ continue to grow is just awesome! Both reflect his work ethic and the commitment he puts into everything he builds.

That’s why Theo is my right hand man when it comes to our events. I trust his judgment, value his input, and appreciate the work he puts into making these events happen.

We’re doing the heavy lifting now to get everything ready for kickoff. Next week will be Theo’s time to shine!

When you see him running around like a maniac keeping things moving, please take a moment to give him a big thank you. So much of what he does happens behind the scenes, and he deserves that recognition.

Thank you, Theo! I’m grateful for everything you do and even more grateful for your friendship.

🎳 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Lizzy Rees & Clay B Rees 🎳

For the first time, we are featuring a father-and-daughter team in an Agent Ong Open IV - "All In" Player Spotlight!

🏆 Lizzy: Two PBA Women’s Regional titles
🏆 Clay: One PBA Regional title and two PBA50 Regional titles
🏅 Clay: Northwest Region Rookie of the Year
🔁 Returning Agent Ong Open competitors

Bowling has been passed down through generations of the Rees family.

Clay grew up in Riverton, Utah, and joined his first league at age 13 because of his father. Lizzy started bowling at only three years old before deciding to take the sport more seriously at 16.

Earning Northwest Region Rookie of the Year at age 50 is one of Clay’s proudest accomplishments. It proved that he could still compete successfully alongside younger bowlers. However, watching his children succeed means even more to him.

“It means more to me to watch Lizzy and my two sons, Wil and Nic, be successful than any of my own accomplishments ever will.”

Lizzy’s first PBA Women’s Regional victory also created a special family moment. She stayed focused on one shot at a time and did not watch the scores. It was not until the final position round that she realized she had a chance to win.

Her dad and friends stood behind her for every shot of the title match.

“I have always looked up to my dad, especially when it comes to bowling. I have always wanted to be as good as him someday, and that motivates me to work hard.”

Clay is equally proud of Lizzy’s accomplishments and how far she has come as a bowler.

They are both extremely competitive and neither likes to lose. According to Lizzy, Clay handles losing a little better. 😂

Their favorite shared memories include shooting 579 in the final game of city doubles to take over the lead and finishing third together in a PBA member/non-member regional in Washington.

They also have a few entertaining tournament routines. Clay listens to the same song repeatedly before bowling. His current selection is “Golden Years” by David Bowie. Lizzy makes fun of him but still joins him in singing it in the car.

Lizzy’s superstition is her hair. It must be worn a certain way on certain days, and it has to look perfect. Naturally, Clay gives her a hard time about it.

Lizzy and Clay competed in Agent Ong Open III – The Trilogy. They remember a difficult pattern, low scores and having to grind for every pin to make the cut.

Now they return for Agent Ong Open IV - "All In" at South Point Bowling Plaza.

“Any time we are able to suit up together, it’s a good time. Being able to do something I love so much with my dad is an amazing thing. I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Both love the size, energy and sound of competing inside the Plaza. They also agree that South Point has the best hot dogs, which is a major bonus.

Lizzy and Clay proudly represent Storm and thank their family, friends and everyone throughout the bowling community who continues to support them.

Welcome back, Lizzy and Clay! We cannot wait to watch this father-and-daughter team compete together again.
