Another chance to make a difference.

I have been asked numerous times why I do the things I do with these events and that they are crazy. It's true it is a bit crazy but not as crazy as the lack of support our children fighting cancer receive. Not as crazy as only 4% of the billions of dollars the government spends annually on cancer research is directed towards treating childhood cancer. Not as crazy as more than 95% of our childhood cancer survivors having SIGNIFICANT health-related issues because of the current treatment options. I have been that parent sitting in the dark moment of time where life stops as the doctor utters those words that your child has cancer. Holding my seven-year-old little girl as she went through treatment, chemo, surgery, and everything that cancer brings to a family. So, are these events I do crazy? Maybe, but if it helps bring awareness, if it helps a family, or triggers some insane event that inspires someone to develop a cure, well then I would be crazy not to do it.

CTC Superhero was founded with one simple purpose...

As parents of a childhood cancer survivor and liver transplant recipient, Ruben and Liz founded CTC Superhero with one simple purpose: to bring healing through joy. With every hospital visit, appearance at a charity event, or through their own efforts to raise awareness of childhood cancer, Ruben and Liz hope to bring even just a moment of joy to anyone in need. In the process they wish to honor the children who are currently battling or have battled cancer (or any illness, disease, or medical hardship) and the family, friends, and medical teams who support them. They are the real heroes!
