Some heartfelt thoughts so you can know me better................
I am still in awe of the fact that I have been in business for a year and had (in my opinion) a successful one at that. 😉To put it simply, it has been a blessed year. I have had just enough business to be able to meet the needs of my customers and take care of them while working my full-time job as a nurse. Working a full-time job along with working to grow this business is not always easy, but it is definitely worth it. It involves a lot of planning, early morning trips to the wholesale warehouse, awaiting amazon orders and praying the product I ordered really does get delivered in 2 days! Because I do not get to do this full time (yet), I do not keep a stock of flowers on hand. That means every creation I make is a one-of-a-kind design made just for the specific occasion. That means no two people are ever going to get the same design.
I'd like to share a story with you that has a deep and personal meaning to me that I hope will bless you too. Several years ago, when my girls were much younger, there was a time when it looked like my husband could possibly lose his job (lay-offs / downsizing / etc.). I was at work one day and was a bit emotional regarding this and was just having a bad day. Plain and simple, I was worried. I sat down to check emails and someone had sent me a chain / forwarded email "story". Normally I would delete and not even read it but for some reason, I read it this day. This was the story:
There was once a man who was going on a business trip with his boss and his wife was invited to go along with him. The boss was a very wealthy man. The first night they went out to a restaurant and as they were going inside, the boss bent down to pick up a penny. He looked at the penny and then placed it in his pocket. The wife pondered on this all through dinner and it bothered her so much, she simply had to ask the man about his actions. She asked him why he would even pay any attention to a penny. The man took the penny out of his pocket and handed it to the woman. He asked her to read what it said on the penny. She said, "In God we trust". The boss told the woman that there was a time when he had nothing and he learned to trust God in all things and his trust in God had helped him become the success he now was. He also told her that every time he sees a penny, he feels like it is a reminder from God to continue to always trust Him. The man said he could not pass up a penny without picking it up.
When I read that email, tears began to flow. It was as if God knew I needed to be reminded to trust Him and that He was going to take care of us. That night when my shift ended and I went to get into my car, directly below my car door on the ground was 4 pennies. It was as if God himself placed those 4 pennies right where He knew I would see them when I was getting into my car. There was one for me, my husband and both my girls. I picked up those 4 pennies and I never pass a penny up when I see one. It doesn't have to be "heads up" either because no matter what, I will have all the luck I need if I remember "In God we trust"!
When I started the business, I wanted to do something special and unique that would make it stand out and this story kept coming to my mind. I have a large container of pennies that we have collected over the years so I decided to place a penny in the card envelope of every arrangement I make. Oddly, I have not had one person ask me about it or what it means but I thought now would be a good time to explain. I pray each and every person who receives something from Adoration Florals will ultimately trust God for all and in all things........and a little bit of luck never hurts either.

P.S. Please feel free to share this post with anyone you think might need to be reminded who they need to trust 😉
