As we remember the life and achievements of President George H.W. Bush today, we fondly recall this message that the President sent to the men and women involved in the WWII Victory Capitol Flyover. The Flyover, which took place on May 8, 2015, included 15 historically sequenced warbird formations that traveled across our nation’s capital from the WWII Memorial to the United States Capitol. The Flyover celebrated the 70th Anniversary of Allied Victory in Europe, a conflict in which President Bush served as one of the youngest aviators in the U.S. Navy.
