As I sit here & reflect over my wkend REALITY HITS ME…
I’ve been working 6 days a week for over a month—3 of those weeks included two doubles. I’m down to one double now💪🏾 but when that’s included in the 6, let’s be honest… it turns into 7😮💨
Sunday? My only off day & then, it’s never really off🤔
In between clocking in & clocking out, I’m showing up as a parent(OF COURSE)💪🏾🤞🏾running a household & growing a business that just pulled off a full 2-day event for THE 57TH ANNUAL BLACK ARTS FESTIVAL HOSTED BY THE HARAMBEE UJIMA COMMITTEE THANK YOU😊(on top of previous events we’ve had)🙏🏾
That’s a lot of energy, a lot of sacrifice more importantly….THAT IS A LOT OF ME👌🏾
Tonight, as I finally sit down, it hits me….
The last time I cooked was Friday & that was spaghetti that I didn’t even eat until after midnight while @ work & before I knew it, it was time to go into full business-owner mode😁
Saturday night? A can of Pringles @ work(I like to be on time)🤷🏾♀️
Sunday? A ham & cheese sandwich after 7pm while unloading the U-Haul….that sandwich⁉️ Made with love by my partner cause she’s a real one💪🏾 but more importantly so we wouldn’t forget to eat something while working🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️
No, this post isn’t for sympathy👌🏾
It’s a reminder—TO ME & TO YOU….
That even in the grind, even when we’re holding it all down, our BODIES & MINDS STILL NEED CARE, REST, REAL FOOD & TIME TO JUST BE STILL🧘🏾♀️
Not just to keep going….but to be WELL WHILE WE GO🫶🏾😉
So here’s to the builders, the caregivers, the multitaskers, the dreamers & the doers….
