All we wanted were a few romantic sunset photos on a Milwaukee rooftop. 🌅

The seagulls had other plans.

One minute I’m holding the bride’s veil and bouquet, the next I’m apparently head of rooftop security while our photographer is reconsidering every life choice that brought her to this moment. 😂

Wedding planner. Veil holder. Bouquet carrier. Professional hype woman. And, when necessary, seagull defense.

Because when I say I’ll do whatever it takes to get you those sunset photos…I mean it. 🫡

And the best part?

The suspect remained at the scene.

Zero remorse. 🐦

What happens when you treat a wedding design like a painting? 🎨

For this Monet-inspired styled shoot, we played with color theory, layering, and movement. bringing together periwinkle, blue-green, mauve, pinks, blues, and purples in a way that felt soft, romantic, and almost watercolor-like.

Because color doesn’t always have to match.

Sometimes the most beautiful palettes happen when colors interact, when a cool periwinkle sits beside a dusty mauve, when blue-green adds an unexpected contrast, or when different shades of pink and purple begin to blur together.

That was the heart of this design.

Inspired by Monet’s use of color, light, and movement, we wanted every detail to feel like another brushstroke. The florals, linens, glassware, stationery, and layers of the tablescape all working together to create one complete composition.

It’s one of my favorite parts of wedding design: taking colors that might not seem obvious together and finding the balance that makes them feel completely intentional.

Your wedding doesn’t need a perfectly matched color palette. It needs a palette that makes you feel something. 🌙

There’s a very specific kind of happiness that comes from stepping back and realizing the vision in your head is finally right in front of you. ✨

The linens are straight.
The candles are glowing.
Every place setting is exactly where it belongs.
And I get that little yep… there it is smile. 🤍

Designing a tablescape isn’t just about making a table look beautiful. It’s about creating a feeling. the colors, textures, florals, stationery, candlelight, and tiny details all working together to tell the same story.

And that final moment when I make the last adjustment, step back, and see it all come together?

4 years ago today, we promised each other forever beneath a theme that couldn’t have fit us more perfectly — “love you to the moon and back.” 🌙

And somehow, after all these years, I still love you even more than I did standing at the end of that aisle.

As a wedding planner, I get to witness hundreds of love stories. I see beautiful vows, emotional first looks, packed dance floors, and all the little moments in between. But getting to experience it myself with you will always be one of the greatest honors of my life.

Because now I understand weddings in an entirely different way.

Not just as timelines, flowers, music, or details — but as the beginning of a marriage. A home. A safe place. A person you choose over and over again long after the wedding day is over.

Four years later, you are still my calm in chaos, my biggest supporter, my best friend, and the person I want beside me through every season of life.
