Just found out about it last night so I'm bearing no cupcakes but let's hope they are in our near future, ❤️❤️❤️🧁💐

Hello my lovelies!
Another year, and another need to find housing. My Pennsylvania experiment has failed - I've been robbed and feel distinctly unsafe.

Putting out feelers for a place that will let me keep my two exemplary cats, and make cupcakes and swimbaits and face paint! Either in town for off season, or even as far as Crisfield for year round. (not Salisbury, safety is priority). Must be in Maryland.
I don't look good on paper, so Realtor probably not an option.

Can't believe it's been a year since I baked. It's been a really hard time - but I'm on the way up again.
I got up at 4am to do this and delivered it at noon. Luckily, I had packed my gear in an orderly fashion before my last move of house (under duress per usual!) so once I got space cleared and extra table put up - it went smoothly.

My friend gave me an inspiration photo so I make no claims to the design - but the photo was boxed cupcakes and I have to say - the bouqcake version took my breath away!

I am considering off season residency in OCMD this year, starting in November. If anyone has any good tips or threads they can point me to - much appreciated. I will have to be allowed to have my cottage baking biz in the rental home.

Sadly, I'm having to close orders again as I need to find new housing and rehome my cats. Pronto.

This client thought I was in OCMD when she ordered. Dozen white cupcakes, rust and sage green accented. For pickup now in WHITEFORD. If it doesn't rain, I'll be in Aberdeen tomorrow at Ripken Stadium. I'll put them in the freezer if they don't go today. $65

Today's work.
I've got one more order on the books for next week, and then I think I won't be taking any orders until after face painting season is over in November (and am considering moving down to OCMD area for off season again!). It just isn't profitable enough.

This is my "basic bouq". Rosettes and hydrangeas alternating, one color, surrounding a central flower more complex. Simple, economical, impactful.

Took a couple hours out of my day to work on a new product presentation.
This is a beachy item I'd like to be able to take to OCMD next weekend for pickups there.

What an incredible last ten days it's been.
Mother's Day is dusted and done, all wrapped up with a bow and delivered.
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and the orders, for the appreciation and the patience with my sudden and unexpected reboot.
I'll be working on the website tonight to update the rest of the information and put items "in stock" for ordering.

Biggest order day ever. No good photos 😢😢 - rain picked up this afternoon.
Just a couple to knock out tomorrow morning and then I hope to relax for a couple of hours before going to my "second shift" as the face painter at Aberdeen IronBirds stadium.

My first pink and blue this go-round. I hadn't noticed the peonies in the inspiration photo, until I looked down and saw I was 'missing' three cupcakes. Nearly cried, thinking they would take forever but I got lucky and pulled just the right tip from my collection (two years ago, I had tinkered with my icing tips, prying them open, squeezing them narrower in places to get different effects) and it went very quickly.
These bouqcakes weigh in at 4.5lbs. That's a lot of butter!

Took a break from baking and my other two businesses to get my OG website back online. I may have missed a few things and I have nothing listed as 'in stock' because I don't know how to schedule it for pickups starting next week. BUT - It's a start!

Whew what a day! I now have a nice set of orders for the week, including one I did today for a birthday girl. 250 likes on my post in the Jarrettsville group, too.
Tomorrow, I have an oops bouqcake (came out more coral than pink) that I'm bringing with me to Inverness Brewing in Monkton, where I'll have a face painting concession (it will be gifted to the owner). So, if you want to see before you buy - come on out and take a peek. Should be crazy-busy but the beer is outstanding and so is the food.
(the cats are a little confused about my new passion. They think my priorities are misplaced)

Can't believe I almost missed

Looking at all the beautiful photos in my feed, it now feels like it was all a dream.

Unfortunately I suffered another round of Covid-19 in September - October, so I have not made any progress in getting back to baking. I so wish I could just click my heels together, and have a home and a kitchen and be trotting down my stairs to greet you, boxes and bags filled with happiness in hand.

I think of you all often and hope that you are well.

I've made a decision
I will be staying in Howard County MD for the winter. Even though it will take a good deal of work to ready a place to produce cupcakes, I am so much less anxious just having this settled. As much as I miss you all, and regret the opportunities I will miss to network and collaborate - my rental experience in OCMD was so unexpectedly traumatic that I can't seem to make myself rent again. This is just the right thing to do for now.

Next week as the temps go down, work will begin in earnest on my setup. I will be out of town mid-September. I'm confident that I'll be baking by October if not before.

With summer waning day by day - I am making one last attempt to come back to the area. Looking for safe, legal, mold-free housing (1BR is even okay) where I can live and bake within 30 minutes of downtown OCMD. (Not Salisbury...)

My bounty is still up - anyone who finds me a place gets a cupcake order for free every month I'm there.

My place needs to be convenient to my clients to pick up from. I don't have landlord references and my credit was damaged by the recession 10 years ago, so I'm looking for that special property owner who *really really* wants the best cupcakes in OCMD to come back!

I miss all of you. I've been doing balloon twisting and face painting at Food Truck Nites in the area to pass the time, but nothing gives me the pleasure I got pleasing hearts and palates of the most wonderful people in the world
