We got some perfect Connecticut summer weather for this client appreciation block party on Pratt Street in Hartford!

Guests got their pick of food and drinks from local favorites, including Vaughan’s, Sorella, Sunberry, Hartford Flavor Cocktail Parlour, Urban Lodge, Bloom Bake Shop, and Capital Ice Cream…all while enjoying live music by the incredibly talented American Honey, a strolling magician, face painting, a custom friendship bracelet making station, and some special appearances from Hartford’s favorite mascots. 😊

Create a luncheon for 450 employees to celebrate a company's 190th anniversary? Say no more!

This event was so much fun to plan, bringing in historical elements that gave a nod to the company's longevity. Employees received a wooden token upon arrival that they could exchange for a locally made item from the Holcomb Farm pop-up farm stand, watched a live blacksmith demonstration, and listened to folk music while enjoying an 1800s-inspired menu. But the coolest element might have been an original explosives wagon, on loan from the local historical society, that was carefully transported to the event to create an awesome photo opp.

Add in burlap décor, antique props, and employees who fully embraced the theme by dressing the part, and for one afternoon it truly felt like we had stepped back in time.

This past weekend I wrapped up one of my favorite projects in a while — the RI Council 94 Convention 2026 in Providence. The two-day event brought together 160 union members, elected officials, and labor leaders from across Rhode Island, along with council leaders from neighboring states, to celebrate Council 94’s 50th Anniversary and talk about what’s next for the labor movement in the state.

We had an incredible lineup of speakers, including AFSCME International President Lee Saunders, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley, U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, Congressman Seth Magaziner, and Congressman Gabe Amo, who stopped by during the convention. The event also included the nominations and installment of new officers, plenty of swag, and an epic 80s glow party to wrap things up on night two.

Always satisfying to see months of planning and on-site production work come together to create a space for people to connect, share ideas, and celebrate the work they do for their communities! 💚
