Congratulations to Sara Pierce for winning the contest to name the slogan for the Gateway 250- Our Hometown Celebration! Out of hundreds of submissions- “Small Town, Big Freedom” was chosen! Sara picked up the -Made in Mt. Sterling- basket today and she will be recognized during the July of 4th event! 🇺🇸 Thank you to the Mt. Sterling Advocate for conducting the contest!

Mark your calendars for the Fourth of July…Montgomery Co High School football stadium….food, history exhibits, a great line-up of live music, a special 250th program, followed by a professional fireworks show, with lots of other fun surprises. A BIG July 4 event is in the works for Mt. Sterling-Montgomery County as the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday! 🎂 🎂

A logo has been selected, but a committee planning the celebration is asking the public to help come up with a name/slogan for the event!

The winner will receive a Made in Mt. Sterling basket with all kinds of goodies, a special plaque, recognition at the event and in the Advocate!
