If you’ve been in our hospital lobby recently, you may have noticed a refrigerator with floral arrangements sitting off to the side behind our information desk. Marie’s Giving Garden is a new initiative by the Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Foundation, offering a ‘pay what you can’ option for families to grab a small floral arrangement for their loved ones when visiting.

All donations made go to the Foundation, allowing them to continue operating the program and other patient and family-focused efforts.

🐾 Germany’s Supermarkets Are Trying Something Clever for Dog Owners! 🇩🇪

In some German supermarkets, you can now find “pet parking pads” — ventilated, temperature-controlled kennels where dogs can safely rest while their owners shop. Each kennel is hygienic, secure, and climate-regulated, with transparent walls so owners can easily check on their pets.

Access is controlled through a code or app, so only the owner can unlock it. The goal is to stop people from leaving dogs tied up outside or waiting in hot cars, while making shopping trips easier and safer for both pets and humans.

It’s still being trialled, but it’s such a smart idea that could easily spread elsewhere. Imagine popping into the supermarket without worrying about your dog’s safety outside! 🐶🛒
