ANKÜNDIGUNGEN finden am 8. November um 17:00 Uhr MEZ statt, der Ticketverkauf startet am 15. November um 17:00 Uhr über PayPal.

Häufig gestellte Fragen (FAQs) und Veranstaltungsinformationen werden in Kürze auf Deutsch und Englisch veröffentlicht.

F: Wie unterscheidet sich unser Event von einer Buchmesse?

A: Bei RARE legen wir Wert auf die Beziehung zwischen Besucher:innen und Autor:innen. Jeder Besucher hat die Möglichkeit, möglichst viele Autor:innen kennenzulernen. Je nach Ticketart habt ihr 7 oder 5 Stunden Zeit, im Signierraum zu sein, Bücher zu kaufen, sie signieren zu lassen, euch mit den Autor:innen zu unterhalten und Fotos zu machen. Für Treffen und Fotos mit den Autor:innen fallen keine zusätzlichen Tickets oder Gebühren an. Bringt eure Bücher oder andere Gegenstände von zu Hause mit oder kauft traditionell deutsche Bücher bei unserem Buchhändler oder den Autor:innen vor Ort. Einige Autor:innen bieten Vorbestellformulare an, damit Ihr Bücher direkt bei ihnen bestellen könnt. Da die meisten Autor:innen anreisen müssen, haben sie am Tag der Signierung möglicherweise keine zusätzlichen Bücher zum Verkauf. Wenn Ihr keine gedruckten Bücher zum Signieren habt, könnt Ihr gerne andere Artikel mitbringen. Alle Autor:innen signieren diese gerne für Euch.

Bitte beachtet, dass zum Zeitpunkt der Ankündigungen jede/r Autor:in bereits zwei- bis dreimal bestätigt wurde. Aufgrund unvorhergesehener Umstände kann es zu Absagen von Autor:innen kommen. Um Enttäuschungen zu vermeiden, lest vor eurer Teilnahme möglichst viele Autor:innen, die an dem Event teilnehmen.

• Frühbucherticket (Early Entry) (gleiches Ticket wie Normaler Eintritt plus 2 zusätzliche Stunden): 95€ zzgl. PayPal-Gebühren - in US-Dollar ca. $110,75

• Normaler Eintritt (General Admission): 65€ zzgl. PayPal-Gebühren - in US-Dollar ca. $75,78

• Der Ticketlink ist noch nicht live und führt euch daher erst am 15. November um 17:00 Uhr MEZ zur Veranstaltung.

WEITERE INFORMATIONEN

• Der Zimmerblock im Estrel Hotel wird mit dem Ticketverkauf bekannt gegeben.

• 95 % der Autor:innen, die an dem Event teilnehmen, haben deutschsprachige Bücher.

• Literary Queens ist offizieller Sponsor und Buchhändler.

• Personen unter 16 Jahren haben keinen Zutritt zum Autogrammraum.

• 16- und 17-Jährige müssen von einem Erwachsenen begleitet werden.

• Für Besucher:innen mit Nachweis einer Behinderung sind Begleitpersonentickets erhältlich. Dieser Nachweis ist in eurem Bundesland erforderlich. Die Begleitperson erhält ein Armband in einer anderen Farbe und darf nicht an der Signierstunde teilnehmen.

• RARE26Berlin-Artikel sind online und vor Ort erhältlich: Tragetaschen, Souvenir-Anstecker, Werbegeschenke und T-Shirts.

• Freiwillige werden benötigt, die Anzahl richtet sich jedoch nach der Anzahl der verkauften Tickets. ANNOUNCEMENTS will be November 8 @ 5PM /1700 CET and tickets go on sale November 15 @ 5PM/1700 via PayPal.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) and event information to be posted in German and English soon.

Q: How does our signing differ from a book fair?
A: At RARE we focus on attendee/author relationship. Each attendee will have the opportunity to meet as many signing authors as possible. Depending on ticket type purchased, you'll have 7 or 5 hours to be in the signing room and purchase books, get your books signed, chat and take pictures with authors. There is no additional ticket or fee to meet or have your pictures taken with authors. Bring books or items from home and or purchase German traditionally published books from our on site book seller or authors. Some authors will have pre order forms to order directly with them. Since most authors will be traveling they may not have extras to sell on the day. If you don't have physical books to be signed feel free to bring other items, all authors are happy to sign them for you.

Please note at the time announcements are made each author has been confirmed 2-3 times. Due to unforeseen cirumstances there will be author cancellations. The best way to avoid dissapointment is to read as many signing authors as possible before attending.

Pricing:
Early Entry (same ticket as General Admission plus 2 additional hours) €95+ paypal fees paid in U.S. dollars = approximateley $110.75
General Admission €65+ paypal fees paid in = approximately $75.78 U.S. dollars
The ticket link is not live yet so it won't pull up the event until November 15 at 5pm CET

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Estrel Hotel room block to be posted when tickets are released
- 95% of signing authors have books translated in German
- Literary Queens is the official sponsor and book seller
- No one under 16 will be permitted in the signing room
Those 16 & 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult
- There will be carer tickets available for disabled attendees with proof of disability. This proof is what is required in your state. The carer will have a different colored wristband and will not be permitted to participate in the signing
- RARE26Berlin merchandise will be available online and in person at the event; tote bags, souvenier badges, swag, tee's
- Volunteers will be needed however the number of volunteers will be determined by the number of tickets sold. If you speak German and English and would like to volunteer a full day then no ticket will be required. You will have the first two hours during Early Entry to visit authors. Please email [email protected] listing volunteer in the memo line. If you are volunteering then please note not to bring more books than can be signed in two hours.
- How many tickets will be sold? We have no idea. There is enough room for 1500 attendees however I don't know if we will sell that many tickets
- How many authors will be in attendance? 175-230

was beyond incredible and Elisa, the team, and I are grateful for all of you who trusted and signed/attended RARE. Each of you made it the success it was and you reminded me why we do what we do. Even with a shortage of volunteers I was able to meet, chat, say hello to many and loved every minute. Thank you to the volunteers! We were very short staffed but all of you put in 💯 and with a smile the entire time. 🥹
The vibe at the event was what we strive for and loved seeing so many smiles and excitement.
I feel like I say the same thing after each event but it’s true. The authors, volunteers, attendees, narrators, and vendors make the event what it is. The kindness, excitement, and generosity surprises me each time. None of you have to do a signing. NONE and we know that. Coming together as a community makes our tiny part of this book world that much smaller. Meeting in person, face to face, having conversations with like minded people, trading makes me realize it’s our community’s way of contributing. Reminders why we must be out and about sharing with each other.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, whether you traveled from the Philippines, Belgium, France, USA, or Sydney, Brisbane, Perth. Thank you from taking time away from your family, work, writing to come share the experience with us.

We know there is always room for improvement and we strive to do better with each event.

The FB LIVE Is today at 6pm Melbourne time. I’m not sure why some are seeing 8pm or how it shows up for those not in Melbourne. It can be very confusing.
I will be in the main group (here) at 6pm, no worries if you cannot make it as the video will be pinned in this group to view later. We will also be posting it on other social media.

Worried about being alone? Want a chance to meet book friends?
- volunteer as a line ambassador for any 2.5 hours or as long as you want and participate in the signing during early entry for 2 hours.
