Inspiration comes from life and real-world experiences. ✨
A few weeks ago, I went to my kids’ school band performance not expecting anything more than a nice evening supporting the arts. But by the end of the night, I left feeling genuinely inspired.
One of the high school seniors, Patrick Newyear, had composed and directed an original piece called “Adventures Amongst the Stars.” The music was inspired by the same sense of wonder, color, adventure, and imagination you feel playing games like Mario Wonder, and hearing it performed live was one of those moments that sticks with you. You could feel the passion behind it.
As an artist myself, those moments matter to me. Seeing someone so young put their creativity out into the world with that much heart reminded me why art is important in the first place. It connects people. It sparks ideas. It pushes other people to create too.
I was able to record the performance and, with Patrick’s permission, overlay his music onto this video while I created a 3D Mario Wonder-inspired fuse bead box for him. I wanted him to know that his work stood out. That people noticed. That his creativity mattered enough to inspire someone else to make something too.
That’s the beautiful thing about art, it keeps moving. One idea becomes another. A song becomes a sculpture. A school performance becomes inspiration for an entirely different kind of creation.
Support young artists. Support school arts programs. Encourage people to create things even before they feel “ready.” You never know how far one creative spark can travel. 💫
