ROOTS RECORDING – ARTIST SHOWCASE

Some mixes come together quickly. This wasn't one of them.
I approached Roots Recording Company because I wanted to create something that celebrated the incredible artists they represent. When they generously gave me access to their entire catalog, I immediately knew I wanted to showcase every artist on the label. Rather than highlighting only a handful of tracks, I challenged myself to weave the entire roster into one continuous journey.
Finding the right flow between different styles, tempos, moods, and keys took time. Every transition had to feel intentional. It was equal parts problem-solving and creativity, and I loved every minute of it. Along the way, I was able to put my own stamp on the journey while staying true to the music and the artists who created it.
What makes this project especially meaningful is the label itself.
Roots Recording Company isn't simply putting records into the world. They're building a community. Their philosophy is centered around supporting artists, collaborating throughout the creative process, treating musicians fairly, and ensuring every release receives the care it deserves from mastering and artwork to pressing, promotion, and distribution. They believe in authenticity, kindness, connection, and helping artists grow, and those values are reflected in every release.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for labels that lead with heart, and Roots is one of them.
Many of the artists featured here are people I'm fortunate to call friends, and every one of them brings something unique to the label. It was an honor to spend time with their music, connect the dots between their productions, and create a mix that celebrates the collective talent and spirit of the Roots family.
