Despite the pouring rain it was a busy night of drawing with Caricatoons and joeldickiesdoodles … Tried a new (to me) method of adding a little textural stencil in the background of my drawings last night. I think it was pretty successful! ❄️

Caricature Love

I have always loved drawing, and from a young age have been especially interested in drawing people and animals in particular. As a young girl I studied and copied Disney characters (which probably shows in my work now!).

When I got my first job as a caricature artist at Six Flags Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado, I was over the moon to be doing what I loved AND getting paid for it.

That was 20 years ago and I’m still at it.

The world of caricature is - as you might guess - a very fun one, and the styles and skills out there are evolving and diversifying in so many great ways.
