A huge thank-you to the San Diego Tourism Authority for hosting BDI Events at the legendary Magic Castle. From exclusive close-up magic before entering the mansion to intimate performances, parlor shows, and incredible grand illusions throughout the evening, the experience was unforgettable.

Of course, part of the Magic Castle mystique is its very strict no-photography rule inside—so some of the evening’s best moments will have to live on in memory.
Including a visit with Irma, the Castle’s famously talented piano-playing ghost, and one especially creepy encounter in the phone booth… 👻☎️

We also loved connecting with the amazing co-hosts representing San Diego’s outstanding hospitality community! Thank you for bringing a little San Diego sunshine—and a lot of magic—to Los Angeles.

BDI’s Maya, Amy, Aaron and Hayley had a fantastic time at the 2026 Nadel Experience Show exploring the latest in branded merchandise and getting hands-on with innovative products from Nadel’s impressive global supplier partners.

Welcome to the team, Courtney! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome Courtney McClurg to BDI Events as our newest Senior Planner!

A Buffalo native based in NY, Courtney brings 14 years in hospitality and 12 years in events, with experience at Hyatt, Junior Achievement, and Ingram Micro.

A few fun facts: her favorite event destination (so far!) is Ireland, and she once spent a summer working at a family-owned hotel on Lake Como, Italy where she first learned the ins and outs of working in hotels. 🇮🇹

We’re thrilled to have her on the team and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
