We don’t have the answers. But as a community we failed Antonio Renova. Along with the rest of the town, we grieve the murder of this precious 5 year old boy.
Please join local businesses today in their efforts. Many of whom are donating a portion of proceeds to Toby’s House Crisis Nursery. We will be at the Klover event today with our donation, but many businesses are stepping up and doing the same. Consider donating what and where you can. And if you see a child being abused, report it. They deserve better.
As you may have heard there has been a horrific tragedy in our community that has led to the beating and ultimate murder of a helpless five year old little boy.
It’s time like these that we can’t fathom how and why horrible things like this happen.
I want you to know we are working very hard every day to open Toby’s House which is a free shelter for children ages 5 and under who have a care giver in crisis. We are committed to the success of this shelter so that no child is never hurt like this again.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. If you see something DO something. If you hear or see what you suspect may be child abuse call the child abuse hotline at 1 866 820 5437, call dispatch at 454 6979 and for emergencies call 911.
2. Don’t ignore the signs. How many people suspected abuse and didn’t report it? How many assumed it wasn’t their business and didn’t make a report?
3. Donate to Toby’s House if you can. We are a 100% donation funded home that will provide a safe home (and free to the care giver) for at risk children 24/7 with no cost to the care giver.
4. Don’t give up hope. Although these monsters who stole this child’s life may be on our minds tonight-remember that there is an army of people who love and protect children and we are the army that will prevail.
