The future of Heavenly Hands Occasions! If you have been here for a while, you know that our origin story began almost 18 years ago when crafting for events was just a hobby. As time went by, the demand for my creations and the birth of our daughters allowed me to stay home with them while we built our business. Although we achieved many things we never ever dreamed of, from working with amazing vendors, decorating at prestigous venues, and even mentoring a few businesses starting up, I still felt like I had unfinished business. You see, I’ve always wanted to be a nurse. I enjoyed learning about the human body and finding new ways of helping it heal. For years I studied a holistic approach to healing through Massage Therapy and Esthetics, but always felt there was more to learn. Giving up my dream when I became a mother wasn’t easy. It took months of agonizing and grieving over a dream I could not achieve at the time. Doors were closing for me everywhere and I felt like a huge failure. So I put my life in God’s hands and built a new dream. Being able to be home and raise my daughters was the best decision I could have ever made. And I do not regret making that decision. My goal was to embrace this new career and absorb as much knowledge as I could while being able to balance wife, mom, home and business owner duties. I was trying my best to learn in a time where there were no classes or resources for the creators. YouTube wasn’t even a thing yet, and social media was only MySpace. Everything I learned was from trial and error. One day, things changed. I have a good friend of mine that was moving out of state and while we were cleaning out her garage, found her Master’s degree in a frame. And she said something that really stayed with me. She said, “your education, is something no one could ever take away from you.” For months her words stayed with me. And one day, I decided to register for classes. I didn’t even tell my husband, I just did it. For years I had given up almost everything I wanted for myself and trusted God through the journey He was taking me. So when the desire to finish school showed up again, I went with it. And here I am today……. See comments
