I recently attended two networking events with people who reminded me what I love about this industry. The energy. The ideas. The shared commitment to creating experiences that matter.
Sometimes you don’t need a full reset. You just need to be around people who energize you and remind you of your why.

In an earlier post, I shared that one of my intentions was to fall back in love with my role as an event producer. My first event of the year was a beautiful reminder of why I do this work.
I had the honor of supporting my client as she celebrated what would have been her mother, Ms. Minnie Russell’s, 100th birthday. The event, Minnie’s Memory, was both a commemoration and a moment of education. We created space to share information about Alzheimer’s disease, which took Ms. Minnie’s life, and provided much-needed resources for those caring for loved ones living with dementia.
Ms. Minnie was known for her fabulous hats, and her collection was auctioned during the event, raising funds for Actively Caring Through Sharing (ACTS), an incredible support organization for caregivers.
This experience was a powerful reminder that events can honor legacy, build awareness, and truly make a difference. It definitely helped me reconnect with why I love what I do.

As an event design consultant, I always encourage my clients to focus on their stakeholders’ needs when planning conferences and meetings. The heart of event design is empathy and truly caring for the people you serve. But too often, as planners, we forget about one of the most important stakeholders in our lives… ourselves. We stay busy fulfilling everyone else’s needs and quietly neglect our own.
This March in Monterey, I am inviting you to shift that focus back to you. Spend three days nurturing your desires, your thoughts, and your goals. It is time to honor your needs and give yourself the same intention and care you give to everyone else. As the saying goes, put your own oxygen mask on first.

This book has been sitting on my bookshelf since 2021. Over the last couple of weeks, the title has come up at least four or five times. I don’t believe that was a coincidence. I felt nudged to finally dust it off and dive in. I listened to that nudge, and I’m so glad I did. I read it on New Year’s Eve, and it was exactly the spark I needed to step confidently into 2026.
What’s been tugging at your spirit lately? Do you honor your inner voice enough to follow it?
