Something new is coming to the City of Angels. đź‘€
I’m honored to share that I’m partnering with Valerie Valdez, who’s trusting me to step in as co-event director of City of Angels and to bring my own vision to life. Valerie, thank you for believing in me and for putting this event in my hands. It takes a lot to hand something you built over to someone else, and I don’t take that trust lightly. I’m grateful for your partnership and excited for what we get to create together.
City of Angels holds so many special memories for me, and there are two I’d like to share. Brandi and Ronnie were some of the very first promoters to ever hire me to teach a workshop at a large event in Southern California when I moved here; they gave me a chance early, and I’ve never forgotten it. And on a much more personal note, City of Angels was the last time I ever saw, hugged, and danced with Angel Figueroa — a memory I’ll hold onto for the rest of my life.
Stepping into this role, I recognize that every single one of you carries your own memories and moments from this event over the past decade. I promise to honor yours the way I hold my own… and to give you a reason to make brand new ones.
LA is our home, and the SoCal community is my family. I want City of Angels to feel like home and bring this whole community together to build something that belongs to all of us.
If you’ve been before, know this: it’s going to be a completely different experience. I have big plans. This may be the first three-day event I’ve ever run, but if you’ve ever been to one of my workshops, seminars, dances, or one-day events, you already know I pour my whole heart and soul into everything I do for this community. I promise you the same here, and then some.
