Some paths don’t need to cross by chance; they’re drawn together by a shared vision.
This next chapter of the FIXVTIØN Mix Series carries a deeper meaning. Not only because it welcomes a fellow Colombian, but because it celebrates someone whose work has become a catalyst for connection beyond borders.
EL MAMU is the artistic project of Mateo Muñoz, a Bogotá-based producer, DJ, and live performer. Originally trained as a classical pianist, he transitioned into music production and has shared the stage with renowned international techno artists such as Anne, Alarico, Steve Bicknell, among others.
His sound is rooted in hypnotic techno, incorporating minimalist, psychedelic, futuristic, and experimental elements but also explores breaks and generative music. His music has been released on several international labels which include Naked Lunch, trau-ma and Concepto Hipnótico.
He is also the co-founder of No.ID (No.Identity Records), a Bogotá-based collective and label dedicated to promoting electronic music, fostering artistic development, and building connections between different genres and communities.
EL MAMU es el proyecto artístico de Mateo Muñoz, productor, DJ y live act radicado en Bogotá. Formado originalmente como pianista clásico, dio el salto a la producción musical y ha compartido escenario con reconocidos artistas internacionales de techno como Anne, Alarico y Steve Bicknell, entre otros.
Su sonido se centra en el techno hipnótico —incorporando elementos minimalistas, psicodélicos, futuristas y experimentales—, aunque también explora el breakbeat y la música generativa. Su música ha sido publicada por diversos sellos internacionales, entre ellos Naked Lunch, trau-ma y Concepto Hipnótico.
Asimismo, es cofundador de No.ID (No.Identity Records), un colectivo y sello discográfico con sede en Bogotá dedicado a promover la música electrónica, fomentar el desarrollo artístico y crear vínculos entre diferentes géneros y comunidades.
