Litchfield Hills Road Race

Farmers markets have brought people together for thousands of years, and that still feels important now.

We don’t have as many third places as we used to: the easy, everyday places where neighbors run into each other, catch up, and feel connected to where they live.

That’s part of what makes a market feel so good. Small farms and local businesses work hard to bring us real things: food grown nearby, flowers, bread, coffee, handmade goods, and the simple pleasure of being around other people.

We may not agree on everything, but we can still gather around good food and the people who make it.

A healthy market helps make a healthy community!

Thank you all!

Could you do us a favor? We have an event coming up early June in music would make it even better.

If you know of anyone, send them this post!

We’ve been working on something. The Litchfield Ledger has a brand new website, and beyond the fresh look, we built a local conditions widget we’re pretty excited about.

Temperature, sunrise time, lake conditions at Bantam,
trail status — all in one place, updated constantly. As the weather warms up and you’re deciding whether to get outside, we think it’s going to be genuinely useful.

Come check it out and share it with someone who would use it! Link in bio
