A little glimpse of a very sweet October wedding. 🤎💍🍂

Taking a moment to be thankful to be a part of this wedding and all the weddings over the years, as I start a new chapter. 🤭 This December will be my final wedding, as I have started ETSU’s radiology program. It is bittersweet to leave the wedding world and all the incredible people I’ve gotten to work with over the years!

Today is all about engagement pictures! This photoshoot usually comes to mind when you are thinking about designing your save the dates, but really offers you the opportunity to get comfortable with the camera and your photographer. Sometimes posing and being the center of attention can be nerve wracking for one or both of you! This time allows you to get in some practice and get those nerves out of the way before your big day.

Destination weddings definitely have my heart, and make for an extra memorable wedding day! Here are some tips and things to consider when planning or thinking about a destination wedding:

- Between travel costs and travel time there is the possibility some of your friends and family (even the closest ones!) cannot make the trip. If you’re on the fence, maybe check in with those special people before making your decision!

- when booking vendors, you can always ask for their recommendations on other local vendors they enjoy working with. Photographers, videographers and planners/coordinators also often travel! If you have a favorite person local to you, check and see if they offer travel packages!

Don’t be afraid of color! While don’t get me wrong, I am a neutrals girly and I LOVE a good monochromatic white/black wedding - if you love color don’t be afraid of it! Some of my favorite weddings have been full of color, it brings an element of fun, of life and personality. Whether it be wildflower florals, bright pinks & reals & purples or a full rainbow of color. Let your vision come to life! It can be intimidating, but having a great florist can really bring it to life.

The bridal suite - it’s your cozy spot for the day and the site of your getting ready pictures! Here’s a few tips for the bridal suite:
- Be sure to have snacks and water, you want to stay fueled and hydrated for your big day!
- Remember to bring a steamer or two for the dresses.
- Have a few people assigned to have the bridal suite a quick clean and pick up prior to your photographer arriving. This will ensure the background of your getting ready pictures is clean AND help with overall cleanup at the end of the night!

✨Sparkler Exits✨
My biggest advice for sparkler exits is allllll about what you purchase. Always buy the extra long sparklers! These make for the best photographs and allow you to run through more than once if you want. Also be sure to grab a couple buckets with sand in them for guests to put the sparklers in afterwards - no fire hazard!

Day 4 of 12 days of wedding tips! 🎄💍

If you are wanting to keep your wedding more friendly for the environment, read on for some easy swaps and ideas!

1. Swap disposals for compostables! The convenience of disposables can be hard to let go of if that is something important for the flow of your day. Buying cups, plates, etc that are compostable instead gives you the best of both worlds.

2. Repurpose repurpose repurpose. This is good for the environment and your wallet! Have florals at your ceremony spot be moved to accent your reception space. Use bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces for some of your tables. Little things add up!

3. Have consumable wedding favors. Things such as custom cookies, little bottles of champagne, or even do like this year’s Hawaii wedding and have your centerpieces be involved as favors! They had bags for each guest to pick different local fruits that made up the centerpieces of each table.
