Our Maker's Market & Amphitheater Open Mic is coming up this Saturday! We are still accepting vendors:

The Carbon County Art League will be hosting a Maker's Market & Amphitheater Open Mic at Lehighton Amphitheatre & Upper / Lower Park every second Saturday from May through October 11AM-4PM. This is for human-made / AI-free art and products. There will be an open mic in the amphitheater, a free art supplies give-and-take station, vendors, food, lawn games, and classes/activities.

It’s only $25 for a 10’ x 10’ vending space or $10 for a 5’ x 5’. There are also reserved spaces that are free for members of the Carbon County Art League (learn more at www.carboncountyart.com). Showing proof of membership to another art league will knock $5 off your vending fee. Nonprofits vend for free. Our intention is to reinvest these vending fees into hiring local artists, musicians, and performers for community events and projects.

This is a curated event, which means we will be considerate about offering a variety of quality items. We are serious about the requirement that your art or products be 100% human made, and made by you. The purpose of this market is to help support makers. We do not accept AI-generated artworks be they standalone prints or featured on products. This is also not an appropriate venue for network marketing products. Whether it is art, dolls, soap, plants, wooden shelves, cupcakes, jewelry, or whatever else - if you made it, it is welcome.

Thank you Public Works, Light & Power, Borough Council and our Lehighton Community for making the Block Party and Summer Concert Series a successful evening. Thank you to Lehighton Firepolice and Lehighton Fire Department for assisting with the crowds, traffic and fireworks. Thank you Lehighton Downtown Initiative for the firework display. Lastly thank you to Mike Muffley from the Beaten Path for playing patriotic music as the firework show was displayed.

The past 48 hours have been trying for our tiny village. We weathered the storm together. Some without power, some with power, some with property damage, some spending time at the Rec Center for the pop up cooling shelter, either way we did it together.

We have shuffled and regrouped and were able to still have a community block party to celebrate America! It's towns like ours all across America that come together to make America great. We would not be able to do it without the community and those that serve it.

For those of you who have messaged us asking about the LDI fireworks. Per the Mayor, the fireworks will be held rain or shine. They are looking to start them a bit early in the hope of avoiding the worst of the rain.

Update‼️‼️ Mother nature has done it again!

Last night a storm came through Lehighton Borough, half of our town is currently without power. Our Light and Power crews have been out working diligently since the outage. Our Public Works crews have done the same clearing and cleaning up all debris from the aftermath of said storm. Our Fire Department and Firepolice are out helping in anyway they can.

On Constitution Avenue at our amphitheater, upper and lower park is an area of town without power currently. Posing a problem for our much anticipated 250th Block Party Celebration.

We will continue to post updates on this page but our anticipated opening will be 4 pm today pending electricity restoration. Thank you for your patience and God Bless America!
