Did you know our Airbnb is also an amazing place to hold an event? We have over 800 sq. ft. of covered patio area and a gorgeous, meticulously kept lawn that gently rolls down to the edge of our picturesque pond.

We have hosted weddings, baby showers, birthday and graduation parties, Passover dinners and family reunions.

We also have a mostly-inclusive package that includes meals for a 4 night, 3 day stay with room for 12 and all the beauty of our 10 acres. This package is perfect for retreats!

It's amazing to me how decorative a simple tray of fruit can be. The beautiful colors and shapes add incredible dimension that create a space full of peaceful joy.

We have a happy group of girls here for the weekend. Our daughter, Kiersty, brought her college friends up from UTSA to stay. They are lovely, sweet young women and we are so happy to have them all in our home. ⁣

They brought these gorgeous bouquets of flowers and I couldn't resist taking a photo. ⁣

We had two day events at Shepherd's Retreat this past weekend. We have never done back-to-back events in less than 24 hours and I'm still healing from neck surgery so was unavailable to help. Mike was out and around to help and he did great at the detail things I generally take care of. Both events were planned, coordinated, and set-up by the guests and they were both done incredibly well. ⁣

Our best wishes and prayers to Jacob who is leaving to serve in the US Army, it was an honor to host your party, Jacob. Your sacrifice benefits us all as Americans, thank you. Have fun, be safe and call your momma everyday. 😉⁣

This table setting is from the dinner party held for the Feast of Tabernacles this weekend. My friend, Susan, set this table and her attention to detail, as usual, was gorgeous. ⁣

Autumn is showing off here at Shepherd's Retreat. The mornings and evenings are perfect for being on the back patio to sip morning coffee or an evening drink. The heron this morning is a view we get to see regularly; she's feasting on the plentiful fish in the pond. ⁣

This year has been a challenge for all of us, right? Shepherd's Retreat had so many cancellations...grad parties, a wedding, 3 retreats and countless guests. We felt so bad for our guests and also bummed about the lost income. ⁣

Things have started to smooth back out. We have open dates, guests booking, and guests staying. We are thrilled to be back into hosting and hospitality. We pray your lives are beginning to look a bit more normal again too. ⁣

While we were shut down I spent time sewing masks and eventually opened a wee Shopify shop to sell masks and other knitted and sewn luxuries I enjoy stitching. Shown here are a few pieces from a Knitted Nativity I make. I wanted to pop on here today and let you know about my newest IG account: .and.threads. 🥳 October is our two year anniversary of opening our home as an Airbnb. 🥳 ⁣

Seeing this in the inbox today thrilled us to bits. This is a recognition that we wholeheartedly work for and this is our 7th time in a row receiving the honor. ⁣
