As my son said „in America we were always sitting home and doing nothing, in Poland we are always doing something and are never home 🏠 „
And honestly… it’s hard to disagree.
Life in America wasn’t bad. We were busy — work, school, practices, routines. Our days were full, but they often felt planned, rushed, and quietly repetitive. We were together, yet somehow always separate and in a hurry.
Here, life feels different.
People protect their family time. Work ends when you walk through your front door — and it truly stays there. Evenings are slower. Conversations last longer. Laughter carries through open windows.
Children run from house to house, calling for friends like it used to be years ago. Neighbors wave from across the street, stopping by not because they need something — but simply because they want to be together. Sometimes they ask if you need help just so they can sit, talk, and share a moment.
Grandparents aren’t visitors here — they are part of everyday life. They want to know the little stories, the small worries, the ordinary joys. They want to be present, not just for holidays, but for the in-between days that matter most.
And somehow, with less rushing and fewer distractions, life feels fuller.
Not louder…Not busier…just warmer …❤️
